In my opinion the truth lies in between. Gillis made every effort to win a cup and he came close. I respect him for that. On the other hand his decisions severely handcuffed the future and Benning. Considering where Gillis left this team I am very happy with where we are now. We will be playoff competitive after next season and cup competitive in 3-4 years.

Gillis was good at team stuff had one good draft pick and one good trade.

@combover Last time I checked Benning’s team lost in six games whereas Gillis’ last two playoff teams only won one game. Only reason Benning didn’t get more than he did was because literally all of our tradeable assets had NTCs and Aquaman was demanding playoffs.
