    Unfortunately ferland contract was uninsurable therefor his 3.5 million cap hit is 2.75 million is real dollars on the teams payroll. Makes that contract wayyyyyyyyyyy harder to move. Maybe we can Jetson it at the trade deadline once most of it is paid off so that we can pay bonuses and bank cap for the next season.

    He was never a mean bastard. In fact they showed him tape of pronger stomping people, smashing their heads into the glass and straight up assaulting dudes. He wasn't down for that, he just wanted to make plays and skate like a regular sized dude. Of course there were times when people got in his face/way and he swatted them but he never went out of his way to impose his strength/size, what a thing of beauty it could have been.

    There is playing with emotion and the there is being a spaz, freaking out and swearing because things aren't going YOUR WAY. Show me a list of captains that constantly float on the backcheck in OT and swear/smash their sticks if they are having an off night. *Spoiler alert... Crickets*

    Miller is far too much of a hot head and pouty pants to be a real leader. He often quits on backchecks (especially in OT) and his stick slamming and swearing is bantam league at best. Horvat isn't as vocal but the message is one I would rather have my team follow. Don't get me wrong love Miller for his production bit as far as him being a better teammate or captain? Please!!!

    28 year old with questionable foot speed and has averaged 15:36 of ice time in his NHL career. He definitely wouldn't be penciled in to the top 4 and I couldn't see him beating schenn out for RHD on the 3rd pairing. Definitely not the type of defenceman that JR and PA are looking for.
