  1. I don’t think he’s bad but I don’t think he’s good defensively. Average at best and below average at worst. He blocks shots, isn’t afraid to hit and plays both the PP and PK. Did that on a playoff team so they must have seen potential in both ends of the ice. Next year will be his 3rd season in the NHL so probably room to round out his game.
  2. Need more size, physicality and defensive ability in the bottom 6 and preferably another veteran 3rd pair D. Having winger depth is nice but if isn’t a rounded out roster with the right depth then you start to see the faults in the roster where you need improvement like we’ve seen in the past few years. We trade out a couple winger we can bring in two veteran Cs for the 3rd/4th line and probably a winger. Also could add a veteran 3rd pair D. Most of our prospect pool is a lot of wingers too. C and D depth are much more important in the long run. That’s where we have run into problems. These young guys are important to have as depth when injuries happen.
  3. Short term deals are key too. Would rather have them expire in 1-2 years than more. OEL penalty increases in a couple years and cap could be high or could just flatten out for a bit in two years after next years increase. By then we could have some prospects ready for the jump permanently which would be nice because of their cheaper deals. Worst case scenario is that the cap does go up a lot and we have more to work with in two years. Gotta prepare for anything.
  4. I meant to say 5 picks in the top 3 rounds of both of the next two drafts. That’s a lot of picks to work with in the retool if they wanted to push a bit of a blockbuster.
  5. Probably closer to 3M but preferably under. Don’t get me wrong he is a great 3rd pair D on most playoff teams. He is a guy I am weary about because of that. If he asks for more we might as well try to swing with one of the top 4 D or try to get one via trade. A guy like Schenn is IMO just as good and could be had cheaper than Soucy. Even if he’s older. Would be nice to clear some more cap so we have more for the bottom 6 forwards. At this point we can only address one of them really well or both of them minimally.
  6. The Blues have 5 picks in the top 3 rounds of both of the next 2 drafts. If they wanted they could go after both Konecny and Hayes, both the Flyers top scorers.
  7. Or Scandella who is the only one with a modified on that D-core and is a pricier 5th D.
  8. I wonder if the Blues want both Hayes and Konecny. Cap could work if some retention was there and/or if the Blues sent Saad + D back.
  9. So Saad and/or one of their defenders is going the other way. I wonder if STL is trying to swing both Hayes and Konecy
  10. Durzi, Valimaki, Moser and Soderstrom just starting out. 3 young top 4D and one with high potential. Not a bad base for a D-core If Yotes keep using their cap wisely they can continue to build up their roster taking quality players off of cap stricken teams. They have a lot of upcoming high round picks the next 3 seasons and a top 10 prospect pool so they have assets to make some big moves moving forward.
  11. I don’t remember where but I thought I heard that the Blues wanted to do a quick turnaround. Have to see the full deal to see where their mindset is at.
  12. We don’t have any blue chip prospects we could trade, nobody wanted to take the players we wanted to trade(I doubt teams 1-10 want them especially) and we can’t really afford to move other high picks. I doubt we move up. More likely we move down IMO which is also unlikely to me.
  13. I was wondering not predicting. Pretty much wondering if it was one of many reasons. NHL tends to like the mondo and make decisions accordingly.
  14. Hmm didn’t see that. It changes things certainly and makes it more interesting. If Elon’s able to get his hands on Mark with all that weigh behind him any takedown would probably hurt/wind Mark. I think some wrestling would help Elon. Especially with the size difference and mixed in with some BBJ. But get those fitness levels up. Marky gonna be moving around constantly on his feet and won’t tire out as easy.
  15. If we somehow got Lindholm he’d be in the top 6. Probably with Petey as I see them having great chemistry. He can win draws as a righty and swap to wing after the draw helping Petey line win possession more. Teams wouldn’t know who to cover as all 3 of Kuzy, Petey and Lindholm are 30+ goal threats He’s more physical and better defensively than Mikheyev and has shown to produce at a ppg before. Can play wing and C
  16. If they were to fight today I think it wouldn’t last long is what I meant. Elon wouldn’t know anything and I suspect he’d get tuckered out much more quickly. If Elon had already a good amount of experience and had good fitness levels then there wouldn’t be much difficulty for Elon to wipe the floor with Mark. That would be murder.
  17. I think Elon would quickly need to get in shape and get enough training to even have a chance. Zuck just has the age, fitness and training on his hand. BJJ already tip the scales heavily. It wouldn’t be very entertaining. Zuck would just tap him out in less than 30 seconds.
  18. I am guessing they’re scraping everything across the board. Obviously there will be a bunch of varying reasons why. I wonder if a part of the reasons were jersey sales. What’s funny that the speciality jerseys are gonna have more value now that they are no longer available. If anyone has any they haven’t worn keep it safe and check the prices down the road for people trying to sell online. It could end up being more than you paid.
