San Jose Metrics...by the numbers, pickuphockey.com version

points in the last 7 days: 28th overall

points in the last 30 days: 25th overall

man games played so far: 21st overall

points per man game played: 19th overall

man games missed by players NOT on LTIR: 11th overall

Quirks from each stat:

Buffalo, New Jersey, LA are three of the four teams with the lowest number of missed games

Dallas and Boston are getting great PPG's out of their guys

Anaheim has relatively low games played compared to its rank, Quebec is just the opposite

New Jersey, Pittsburgh and Buffalo have NOT won the most points in the last 30 days..interesting, this one.

Only new jersey, of those top three is in the top 12 for points in the past week. Paradigm Shift, or quirk in the schedule?

Recall:

Florida recalls Marty Turco from Rochester

Assignment:

Florida assigns Anders Lindback to Rochester

With the lack of playing time Anders has been getting at the NHL level we feel it would be best for his game at this point to see some more action rather than being on the bench every night.

While this stat may be true as far as New Jersey continually calling up and sending down players to ice an active 23 man roster, we have indeed suffered some substantial injuries to Tyler Ennis and Ben Lovejoy. Others such as Michal Neuvirth, Rich Peverley, Alec Martinez, Marc-Andre Gragnani, Cory Emmerton, Arron Asham, Dustin Jeffrey have been healthy scratches if not suffering minor injuries at times this year.

One stat that the Devils take pride in as of last week anyways is our lack of penalty minutes. As of last week we had the lowest penalty minutes total of the top 12 placed teams with 97. All other teams were well over 100 and the top team in the League was well over 250 pims. We take pride in earning points through skill. Our leading scorer Anze Kopitar is amongst the League Leaders in scoring and has yet to earn any PIMs. Just saying.
