frazzY
This. Sorry, I love my team, but Bure played less than 500 games for this organization and things got really sour and now he's going to get his jersey retired? He was a magnificent player and could have easily scored 500 goals and 1000 points as a Canuck had he, you know, played a long, healthy career in Vancouver, but his actual resume does not warrant jersey retirement. Come on... The Pittsburgh Penguins only have 2 jerseys retired and one is for a guy who passed away at a young age (Michel Briere). The only other retired jersey? #66 Mario Lemieux. Standards. frazzY
Bure deserved to be treated better by the Canucks. That was a completely different organization then.. New ownership now, and they clearly realize its about time this team and city rebuilds a burnt bridge. Couldnt be happier for the Russian Rocket. Most talented and explosive Russian player of all time.

GLASSJAW
1 great player does not equal a great team. Cups and jersey retirements don't go hand in hand. And they shouldn't. Lots of great players (and people) have their jersey's retired and haven't won cups.
darkpoet
LOTS of water under that bridge folks.... If they retire Bure's jersey then they should hang up Pat Quinn's right beside it - upside down....
butters
the entire ceremony, to me, is stupid. just a way to sell tickets, create buzz, and manufacture status that otherwise wouldn't be there.
DeNiro
Hate to break it to you, but professional sports is primarily a money making enterprise. Everything is about is ultimately to sell tickets, merchandise etc.. So relax and enjoy it.
Coconuts
I'm glad to hear we're rebuilding bridges, but I'm on the fence when it comes to jersey retirement.
Canuck or Die
Good. He deserves it, and when it happens the curse will be lifted and we can finally win our first cup. I hope it happens before this season ends.
Razors_Edge
Best Canuck ever. Had management not tried to run this team like it was still the 1950's and the players were nothing more than meat he would have played here until the end of his career. Sometimes you ask for a trade when promises are not kept. 10 deserves to be on the roof.
ChuckNORRIS4Cup
Forget Jeff Cowan's going to the rafters. Rory Fitzpatrick is next.

Bill F-ing Murray
Hopefully this leads to the Canucks mending the fences with Mark Messier as well and retire his number, free Lays day at Rogers Arena.
Nicklasjensen46
I hope they can mend whatever is bothering bure still. To me still the most exciting Canucks to wear the sweater.
SergioMomesso
Other than Lemieux, Jagr and Crosby who else has Pittsburgh had that warranted jersey retirement. (2 still play) I guess you could argue Ron Francis too
