(Proposal) Improving the 4th line

Recommended Posts

Vancouver trades RW Dale Weise and a 2014 6th round draft pick to CBJ for RW Jared Boll

-Boll is a big hitter who can fight and isnt a plug. Hes not as fast as Weise but he is bigger and tougher

Vancouver trades 2014 3rd and RW Darren Archibald to NYI for LW Matt Martin

-Martin is a hitting machine. we can add a slightly better prospect instead to get him. Should not have to overpay for a great 4th liner.

4th line of:

Martin-Richardson-Boll

Martin and Boll are big hitters who can fight, while Richardson is defensively responsible and good in the faceoff dot.

Why would Columbus downgradefor a 6th round draft pick.

IMO would at least take a 3rd-4th round pick. Plus if Columbus wants to get rid of Boll doubt it's for another goon. If they trade him it's because they have someone else in the farm to do the job, therefore they wouldn't take Weise back.

So you are proposing replacing these goons with other teams goons and giving up draft picks/prospects to do it. That's not worth it. The coaches just need to do a better job at relaying what their roles are going to be rather than just switching stiffs with another team.
