ken kaniff
Vancouver trades RW Dale Weise and a 2014 6th round draft pick to CBJ for RW Jared Boll -Boll is a big hitter who can fight and isnt a plug. Hes not as fast as Weise but he is bigger and tougher Vancouver trades 2014 3rd and RW Darren Archibald to NYI for LW Matt Martin -Martin is a hitting machine. we can add a slightly better prospect instead to get him. Should not have to overpay for a great 4th liner. 4th line of: Martin-Richardson-Boll Martin and Boll are big hitters who can fight, while Richardson is defensively responsible and good in the faceoff dot. FORWARDS Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Alexandre Burrows ($4.500m) David Booth ($4.250m) / Ryan Kesler ($5.000m) / Zack Kassian ($0.870m) Chris Higgins ($2.500m) / Jordan Schroeder ($0.600m) / Jannik Hansen ($1.350m) Matt Martin ($1.000m) / Brad Richardson ($1.150m) / Jared Boll ($1.050m) Tom Sestito ($0.750m) / DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) / Kevin Bieksa ($4.600m) Alexander Edler ($5.000m) / Chris Tanev ($1.500m) Jason Garrison ($4.600m) / Yannick Weber ($0.650m) Andrew Alberts ($0.600m) / GOALTENDERS Roberto Luongo ($5.333m) Eddie Lack ($0.750m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $62,753,333; BONUSES: $0 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $1,546,

timberz21
Why would Columbus downgradefor a 6th round draft pick. IMO would at least take a 3rd-4th round pick. Plus if Columbus wants to get rid of Boll doubt it's for another goon. If they trade him it's because they have someone else in the farm to do the job, therefore they wouldn't take Weise back. TheRussianRocket.
Like the first deal a lot. 2nd one I think doesn't happen simply because the Isles just got Martin and paid a steep price giving up a solid top prospect in Nederietter (sp?) for him. RonMexico
So you are proposing replacing these goons with other teams goons and giving up draft picks/prospects to do it. That's not worth it. The coaches just need to do a better job at relaying what their roles are going to be rather than just switching stiffs with another team.

CanucksFanMike
Are both of those players upgrades on our 4th line? Yes. Are they necessary upgrades? No. Our 4th line is just fine. After all, it is only a 4th line.
TheRussianRocket.
Oh yea, my bad....in that case I wouldn't mind but think it might take more...Nowe thinking about it, Martin and Clutterbuck would be deadly on the same line!
Pears
Martin is a 2 time NHL hits leader. Archibald is a AHLer. Martin>>>Archibald
Nuxfanabroad
On them smaller market, US teams, those players are "hard-nosed, solid & tough hombres". Should they don a Van jersey, media will eventually brand them as "dirty, undisciplined, cheap-shot artists". See how that works? It's like CNN assessing wars/potential invasions in the ME.
