I'm not trying to offend you or anything but I don't think it's healthy to love or idolize another human being to the level you love Luongo.

I honestly think there is something deeply wrong with you.

I would not be the least bit surprised if you were caught going threw his garbage or maybe even his dirty cloths hamper. I actually fully expect this to happen and I fully expect to see you hiding your face from the cameras as you are escorted out of the courtroom into a police cruser.

I think CDC should do some kind of an intervention for you.

God help you, If there is anything I can do to help you let me know.

I too believe, and am a HUGE fan! But dude... Tone er down a notch..

Ever heard the song "Stan" by Eminem? Yeesh

You love your wife, your kids, your parents...

Not professional athletes for the team you are a die hard of...

And tit for tat. Stop hating on Gillis so much and maybe, u never know, the Lu hate will dumb down too. Fact is no GM is perfect, and regardless if he inherited this core. He was able to keep them here at market value or less, and has had a lot of success. This is arguably the most successful period in the Canucks history, you don't think it has nothing to do with Gillis at the helm!?

Sure he has made some mistakes, but the pros outweigh the cons. AND LOOK at our prospect pool now, BAM! I dont see much of a decline at all in our future (hopefully).

Gillis will be here for a long time.

You will prolly all take offense to this but I still don't believe that Lou is the goalie we will win the cup with. He has managed to meltdown during every playoffs for us at some point that cost us. That it goal the ducks scored in 07, wasn't his arm up callin offside?? 7 goals against back in. 09 vs the hawks when we lost 7-5. Don't get me started on Boston cuz while he played amazing one game, he was awful in the next one. I think gillis made a huge mistake not trading Lou a while ago but that is done so we gotta move on..

I do respect Lou more now tho with the way e has handled everything and its great to see him being a good teammate, but I still have doubts that he won't eff it all up in the playoffs again like he has every year. Seems like everyone forgot about that once schnieds was traded.

Thanks for mentioning me in your OP Apollo. You know I like you and yet at the same time we are on opposite ends of the Luongo spectrum. My question to you is, why exactly do you have so much faith in Luongo come playoff time? I know he's had some very excellent games which you did mention, but have you forgotten all of the games in which he was beaten like a rented mule?

I used to think Luongo was good enough to deliver a Stanley Cup to Vancouver all on his own, then Chicago happened in '09, my faith wavered only a little. Then Chicago happened again in '10, I still believed he was our guy. Chicago happened again in '11 and we did win, but were a goal away from being a laughingstock after building an "insurmountable" lead. I still had some belief left in the tank.

Of course then there was the SCF where Luongo picked the absolute worst time to become Jeckyll and Hyde. Yes he was magnificent in three games but he was equally horrifying in the other three, and the 7th game was absolutely nothing for him to write home about.

After all of that my faith in Luongo's playoff ability was completely shot. I'm tired of holding my breath whenever a shot is directed his way. I mentioned this in some other thread but the postseason Luongo rollercoaster has fried my nerves.

So Apollo, you and I are on a completely different wavelength as far as Luongo is concerned. You have an unshakable belief in Luongo's ability and my belief in him is long gone. That's not to say that Luongo couldn't earn my faith in him back, but it will have to wait until next playoffs.

Apollo.... there were some of us that were supporting him the whole time, the man and the athlete even if that meant him moving on which did seem inevitable, yet your obsession with defining the on ice product with the single individual made you denounce anyone who discussed his faults and potential trade as 'haters.' You did this to me repeatedly even though I had never said a single disparaging word against him.

Personally, I cheer for whomever wears our colours because that is what I believe being a good fan means. That doesn't mean not being critical of aspects of their performance. That is being a hockey fan instead of a 'homer.' Some of the people you verbally attacked were also supporting another fine young man who also wore our colours, so it cuts both ways.

Yes, we should support Lou since he is a member of our team, anyone that doesn't is being irrational, but at the same time it is possible to imagine the team without him on it. It will happen. Hopefully he will have won a Cup with us before that day comes. He is the best goalie the Canucks have ever had (with a sentimental vote to Gary Smith), but blindly idolizing him is as bad as arbitrarily disregarding his play for our team.

All that being said, I will be Lou-ing very loudly on opening night.... but then again, I always have.
