2nd 3rd in 2014 plus 2nd in 2015 or C+ forward prospect.

Rather give Archibald, Grenier a chance in a season or two and keep the picks

Not even close. They'd want Edler at least. What about Edler, Hansen, Schroeder, 2nd for Simmonds and Laughton?

Edler, Schroeder, 2nd = Simmonds

Hansen > Laughton

Hansen > Laughton

you'd really give that much for Simmonds alone?

Ask yourself what the Isles give you for that and then forget the Flyers number all together.

The way I look at it is that Laughton fits our future better than Schroeder, as does Simmonds.

Potential line up for next year:

Sedin - Sedin - Simmonds

Burrows - Horvat - Kesler

Higgins - Laughton - Kassian

Richardson - Santorelli - Booth/Archibald/Grenier

Hamhuis - Tanev

Garrison - Bieksa

Stanton - Corrado

Luongo

Lack

What's not to like? But yea call the Isles up with that offer and guaranteed they offer us something juicy.

In December

Games: 12

Goals: 7

Assists: 5

Points: 12

In general he is good for around 25-30 goals a year.

25 years old and locked up at 3.975 per year for the next 5 years after this.

A true power forward who scores most of his goals of rebounds in front of the net while outworking defenders. Plus is a hard nosed player who fights, hits, and is great at winning battles along the boards.

Philadelphia basically has no reason to want to move him. No reason for them to move him for draft picks or prospects as they don't need those and as far as roster players go moving him only makes sense if they get back a player who fills a team need.

Long story short he won't be on the table unless they are made an offer they can't refuse. Aka overpayment.

Why doesn't philly need prospects or picks? Are they going for the cup this year? Are they very deep in prospects?

Both answers are no fyi.

Teams don't trade core players for draft picks and prospects unless they are rebuilding.

1. Philadelphia may not be a cup favorite right now but they are holding a playoff spot. Teams that are holding playoff seats don't trade away core players for prospects and picks. It should also be noted that Philadelphia started the season horribly and held the 30th ranked seed for a few weeks so the fact that they have climbed this high shows they have been on the upswing.

2. You are correct while they have some decent prospect the depth of non NHL prospects is fairly low but once again they aren't in need of picks and prospects because the team in general is very young.

Lecavalier - 33

Hartnell - 31

Downie - 26

Read - 26

Giroux - 25

Simmonds - 25

Raffle - 25

Voracek - 24

Rinaldo - 23

B. Schenn - 22

Couturier - 21

Timonen - 38

Streit - 36

Coburn - 28

Meszaros - 28

Grossmann - 28

Gustafsson - 25

L. Schenn - 24

Mason - 25

Emery 31

Overall this is a very young team so what would the point be in trading a strong 25 year old player who is locked up for 5 more years for a younger prospect? Why would this team want or need to get younger?

he would be ideal thats for sure. but an overpayment and or us taking a not so good contract would have to happen.

edler

hansen

for

simmonds

l.schenn(salary reasons)

would you do this?

No. Because I think once Edler gets going and if he is dangled he will net the team a much better return

Lol every gm does that. No way they throw in l schenn for salary reasons. They are as high up on him as ever. They just traded jvr for him.

Some of the proposals around here are just way to funny.
