Amish Rake Fighter
Kesler took a huge shot from Ovechkin as well - he needs to get his GD priorities straight and save his health for his real team. and stop winning so many damn faceoffs in the defensive zone

oldnews
Yeah they sulk! Yeah, they "pick their spots", especially Getzlaf. Did you see the blind back pass off the half boards - to no one - in the first period? The kind of brain cramp that turns into an odd man rush - the one thing the US desperately needs with the likes of Kane and Kessel in the lineup. Canada plays smart hockey and they win this matchup most days. The last thing they should be doing is pulling fancy, risky crap.
Canuck Surfer
Good strategy to have him to take Crosby's weak side draws. If we have the puck, how can they have the puck? Canucks could do this with Henrik and Kesler all season long as long as they had more center depth. Too bad Santo went down. If there is a trade, the Canucks need another big, fast center. Horvat will be here soon enough. Crosby, like us, needs a big fast dangerous winger once the draw is done with. Put Nash up there. Or dbl shift Corey Perry? oldnews
and stop winning so many damn faceoffs in the defensive zone Yeah, he's doing his job, creating possession. On the Canadian side, Bergeron and Toews have been suffocating the US.

And the puck has stayed in the opposing end for most of their shifts. You cant play the game not to make mistakes.

Their cycle game is very good - that's another issue entirely. Mistakes will happen - it's the really stupid ones that can kill you.

-Vintage Canuck-
Canada has better individual talent, but I still think the U.S. should be doing better than they have been today.
oldnews
Canada seems content to sit on this lead. The US haven't really been able to generate anything - if Canada doesn't take risks - they are really hard pressed to force the issue.
CB007
Hey. Kesler looks injured again. Surprise surprise. F Olympics hockey! If Kes or any other Canuck doesn't come back 100% I'll personally make it my mission to stop NHL participation in the Olympics from now on.
