[Report] Flyers Have Tabled a "Substantial" Offer for Kesler AND Edler in Potential Blockbuster

Recommended Posts

I hope Kesler goes to Philly. I am not excited about Sutter coming back from Pit. Nothing against Sutter, but his ceiling doesn't leave a lot of room for potential restocking of our core.

Edler, Diaz for Couturier, Simmonds.

Kesler for Maata, Pouliot, 2nd.

If it's Pitts it better be damn better than Sutter, Despres, low 1st in a shallow year and a 3rd.

That's a surefire trade towards mediocrity. We need someone who at least has the potential to become a 1st/2nd line forward. Sutter looks like he's going to evolve into a depth player. Kesler affords us a rare opportunity to add to our forward core. We can't lose it on Sutter.

We drafted Dalpe, Santo, and Richardson with 1st round picks? Horvat, Gaunce, and Santo can all play wing aswell and Kesler can so whats the problem here?

The poster was saying that 4 of our last 5 1st Round Draft picks were on centers. They are Cody Hodgson, Jordan Schroeder, Brendan Gaunce and Bo Horvak. The mention of the other 3 were the inclusion of other centers the team has which is why the poster was stressing that trading for another center is moot.

If Kesler does go to PHI it will be interesting- seems like PHI fans do not want to give up Schenn or Couturier at all.

Wonder if in the end PIT wins the Kesler bidding war, but PHI / VAN have a back up trade involving Edler for Simmonds + prospect.

That would be pretty sweet no?

That was the initial offer from Pitts 72 hours ago.

If Pitts is still in the discussion then they will have moved off of that price considerably, methinks.

Its not about how much they can take, but more about how much they want to. Booth would probably mean we sacrifice the first

Maybe, maybe not. It depends how serious they are about adding Kesler for 3 playoff runs.

They added Jokinen last year after he cleared waivers, kept him around this year, and he's had a resurgence.

They also haven't utilized a compliance buyout so if they require a body back to include Bennett then I could imagine they might go for it. Not likely but not impossible.
