[Report] Kesler is still a Canuck

The Pens acquired Goc, this made Sutter expendable. Would you be happy with Sutter as a centrepiece in a trade for Kesler. Rumour has it they wasn't even offering Pouliot. What a joke of an offer by Shero if that was true.

Sadly, I'm starting to yearn for the days of McCaw's hands-off ownership approach.

The slum-lords are !@#$%'ng this team by not letting management do their job. Maybe this is why Gillis has the job in the first place. No self-respecting real GM wants to have their owner breathing down their necks on these player decisions.

Looks like we're in for a Jerry Jones like run of mediocrity.

Fail is not realizing that if we are indeed shopping Kesler we'd get way more for him at the draft when's there's more than just 2-3 contending teams biddin on him.

Their were more than 3 teams. Even so you are also assuming Kesler widens his list of teams he would accept to and that may not change. Another roadblock is FA comes after the draft and if the price is high they may just look at the liter of available FA's.

So....we trade Luongo and a solid depth defenseman for a third line centre, a disappointing goalie, and a 5th round pick?

Wow.

Actually

We traded Schneider and Luongo, a solid depth defenceman and an AHLer for

A first round pick #9 overall, a 4th line center with possible 3rd line potential (UFA next season) a goalie prospect who is miles away from where the hype had him placed even last year. And a late 5th round pick.

This is how Calgary did it from 2005 through 2011. Get ready for a few seasons of 9th through 13th place finishes in the west. not good enough for the playoffs, not nearly bad enough for the lottery

get rid of Aquilani is more like it

if this ownership group is nixing trades because they want to try and get 2 playoff game they need to go

oh ya who is gonna tell Aquilani to go? You? It's his team, he pays the bills if you don't know what an owner is.

WE ARE NOT CALGARY

JUST BECAUSE KESLER DIDN'T GET MOVED TODAY DOESN'T MEAN IT WON'T HAPPEN

As well.

if Gillis though that there was not enough value in a Kesler or Edler deal right now, post Olympics when their value was at an all time high

Imagine how upset he's going to be come draft day if eh tries dealing either of them for a comparable price.

Maybe he needs to be reminded about how holding off trading a marquee player worked out for him again (Matthias and Markstrom)

well the fans for one thing less and less people buying tickets missing the playoffs and losing money will tell the owners they should either leave or get their crap together and not act like a GM
