Dragonfruits
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 32s Told it was a feeding frenzy for Kesler. A few great offers made. At one point last week as many as 6 teams were legit in play. And Gillis still couldn't make a deal? people need to get this through their collective heads it takes ownership and management to make a deal if Gillis trades Kesler basically means they are giving up on playoffs this year which is bad for ownership no matter what you think 2 playoff games is better than none at the end of the day whether you want to believe it or not ownership is probably controlling this team more than it should unfortunately
CanuckofSteel
Called it, I wanted some big deals but expected minor ones. I honestly am dissapointed with the outcome of today. I don't know who to be more frustrated with ownership or management?
NightHawkSniper
Fantastic. Our only decent player is a guy who doesn't want to be here and isn't wanted here but is still here. Dark days ahead folks. Settle in. We're going to have to get each other through this era. Boy I'd love to hear Kesler demanding a trade...
Junkyard Dog
Reports from 1040 say Gillis and Aquaman were at crossroads when it came to moving Kesler. If true then this is a serious matter. An owner preventing our GM from making rebuild/retooling moves is really bad.
Fozzy
Good. I didn't want want him gone if we weren't getting his true worth. Those of you upset probably wouldn't have felt any better with a sh**** trade coming our way. BINGO! Everyone needs to read this. This isn't NHL 14 where you can pluck trades out of the air. If Shero wasn't offering VALUE then he can stuff it. Kesler is worth MORE to us than getting back a 3rd liner, a B prospect and possibly a late 1st. Pouliot had to be involved for Gillis to even think about the possibility of moving Kesler. We don't want crappy 3rd liners for a player of that magnitude who has practically been the only forward the past few months.

elvis15
Fail. Just fail. How could you NOT trade Kesler to ANY team? Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 32s Told it was a feeding frenzy for Kesler. A few great offers made. At one point last week as many as 6 teams were legit in play. And Gillis still couldn't make a deal? The Gillis hate is strong in you. Rob Rossi @RobRossi_Trib Told #pens felt they had substantial offer to #Canucks. Feel ownership nixed plans for trade that would have sent Kesler to Pitt. Substantial for them obviously wasn't substantial enough for us, certainly if it was still the Sutter/Despres/1st/3rd rumoured deal, or if they offered Bennett or Pouliot but wanted something more significant back, then I don't think we would bite. It's close but Kesler is such a key component that we weren't going to just move him without getting the desired return.
Stick-in-Rink
I'm relieved Kesler wasn't traded... Since Penguins acquired Goc, it was pretty evident Sutter was going to be the central part of the deal and that's a package none of us want... If the offers from the Pens were what we've been seeing the past week, with nothing significantly changed from them then I'm glad we didn't trade Kesler for nothing. We still have draft day
tortorellatheboss
The only reason they vetoed the Kesler trade is because Kesler makes the team money.

73 Percent
you know its aquas fault as much as gillis. if you dont do your job your get fired. it doesnt matter if you push carts at walmart or you manage a hockey team. gillis has been terrible so he deserves to be fired. aquas job as the owner/boss is to fire the employees who aren't performing... do your ???? jobs

Dragonfruits
Get rid of Gillis and Aquilani get rid of Aquilani is more like it if this ownership group is nixing trades because they want to try and get 2 playoff game they need to go
ForsbergTheGreat
Fail. Just fail. How could you NOT trade Kesler to ANY team? Fail is not realizing that if we are indeed shopping Kesler we'd get way more for him at the draft when's there's more than just 2-3 contending teams biddin on him. How people don't see this? It's mind blowing

Nino
Pittsburgh was offering garbage, maybe ownership has plans to can gillis and move the Sedins and make Kesler the Captain and center of the first line. I would be good with that. Sure get rid of the players who like it here and keep the one that wants to go, looked that Canucks would ever do that!!! Hold on we did that last year never mind.
