I'd keep Osuna and Cecil for sure. I'd let Hawkins walk, and Loup... eeeeh. We NEED to get Estrada back though. Wow did he come out from nowhere. Maybe relegate Dickey to the bullpen if he doesn't retire as well. I don't think he's starting material anymore. Give Hendrix a shot.

Yep. See if Sanchez is ready as well. Maybe bring in a starting pitcher if Price walks and def have to sign or trade for some bullpen help. Hawkins retiring most likely, Osuna/Cecil is not good enough.

Also, one last thing I want to add, I think the Jays need to add more players like Revere who are very good at just simply getting on base. Donaldson, Bautista, Encarnacion, and Martin kept swinging for the fences all series instead of trying for a base hit, and that did cost us at crucial points. When Revere went cold, it was hard for the Jays simply to get to base.

Really wish every player this year stays for next year and just improve the bullpen. This team has unfinished business.

you can say that again. Business side of it that won't happen and never does but man it is possible and would be a treat. Just something so special and unique about this club. The relationship and mentality, just frack.

My FA wishlist:

Estrada -> Jays.
Price -> Jays. If Rogers cheaps out, please don't sign with the Yanks/Sox for Blue Jays sake (I am a Sox fan as well).
Greinke/Zimmerman/Leake -> Jays. If Price doesn't sign.
Backup catcher -> Jays. If Navarro leaves which is probably will for more money. Great teammate/player to have though.
Buehrle/Dickey -> bullpen.
Sanchez -> starter.
1/2/3 bullpen arms (relievers/closers)...trade or sign for.

Starters: Price/Greinke/Zimmerman/Leake, Stroman, Estrada, Sanchez, ???/Hutchinson?
Bullpen: SIGN/TRADE, SIGN/TRADE, SIGN/TRADE, Osuna, Cecil, Buehrle, Dickey, Lowe, Hendricks, Loup, Delabar, ??? etc...

...emphasize retaining Price. If not, replacing him with another top FA arm at a cheaper price. Even more, 2/3 bullpen additions at the least, maybe more if Dickey/Buehrle retire. Bulk that up and we're good.

The Revere 2nd strike was major bogus at a major crucial point in the game, bu tin no way can that be blamed on the loss. Too many runners left on base before that for it to be either the fault of Revere or the ump.

Price pitched a better game than I thought he would (even after giving up HR's in back to back opening innings) so for what it's worth (nothing), I'll give him credit for that.

Called strike 3 at anytime in a do or die game is completely unacceptable. Go down swinging, or go home.

Go Mets. F the Royals.

That isn't their fault. I said it to the people I was watching the game with in the 1st inning: Donaldson should have bunted Revere to 3rd after the leadoff double. I don't care how many HR's you had in the regular season. With the amount of fly balls Bats hits you are almost guaranteed a sac fly to lead off the inning. Instead the got zip.

Gibbons didn't want to play small ball when he should have. People can respond to me with "Oh yeah easy for you to say now thanks to hindsight", but the truth is that every run counts and Revere should have been on 3rd with 1 out in the 1st inning. No questions asked.

Great series man. I was wondering where you've been the last little while. Good luck in the WS even though I hope the Mets sweep you guys. Would be nice if the Royals could win it this time around - deserve to.

Their pitching scares me, but I believe in our boys :)  Last year was like 1994, nobody expected us to even make the playoffs, this year is like 2011, everyone in KC is expecting them to win it all. Good luck to the Jays next season, should be a threat for a while!

Great season.   Thing of beauty to see JB clutch up so many times in the postseason.  That alone was an epic win.

The Jays strengths came back to bite them a bit in the end though.

A couple instances where the team clearly needed an old school contact hitter in the lineup that could be counted on to move runners up in key situations - to put the ball in play, or merely lay down a bunt.  The simple fundamentals.  Things you could take for granted in the past that aren't as integral to the game, and it continues to be a bit surprising and somewhat inexcusable given the expectations of 'progress' in the quality of players...

The upside of having so much power early in their lineup - from JD in the two spot down - has been evident many, many times this year - able to jump all over teams and put them in a hole early - but in the 1st inning with a guy on 2nd and no one out, three straight power hitters unable to advance the runner.   Similar circumstances at various points of the game.  Live by the long ball, die by the long ball.  But hey it happens - you have those games - particularly against great pitching staffs, where you don't cash in on scoring opportunities - you just hope it's not an elimination game.

The Jays power hitters are generally good contact hitters considering, but tonight's game was an instance where the lack of a prototypical two spot hitter cost them - and the one guy that should be money to execute in those situations - Goins - also failed in a crucial circumstance to advance the runner.  Didn't mind him taking that first pitch (which was questioned- a lot), but that half-assed, half-slap bunt attempt he fowled down the third base line on 0-1 was annoying, weak, and just too damn pretty.  Sometimes you just want to see old school fundamentals, but hey, that's not really the Jays game at least not on the offensive side of the ball.

One utility bat control specialist off the bench though might have made a difference in a key situation or two...Perhaps a tweak they could use.

Defensively, they played some great ball with the exception of one freak 'I got it, you got it, no one's got it' - and a lot turned on that one break.  Not much you can do about things like that - it's part of the game.

They got beat by a deep, great team that is balanced, and executes.  The Jays were still on the cusp of taking it to seven though, despite leaving a lot of opportunities un-turned.  An opportunity to win it with a pair of guys in scoring position and your MVP candidate at the plate....  to put yourself in that position - can't ask for a lot more imo.

Great season though - and a whole lot to build upon.  With a few tweaks, they should be right back in position to give themselves a good chance again next year.

Bunt.

Small ball wins in the playoffs. No shame in a sacrifice.

@DAVIDprice14: Not how we wanted to end our season but our heads will be held high...what a group of guys we have in our locker room! #ComeTogether

"we", "our"...please stay Price!

Price is a beauty, and he honestly showed some great resiliency under some tremendous pressure today, especially after giving up 2 early dingers. Off season should be interesting.

Jays announce the signing of both Greinke and Price to multi year deals.

Soft cap be damned.
