Canucks35
Miller is such a kook. I would be furious if they signed this guy. What ON EARTH are they thinking? Relax, he's a Olympic goalie with 2-3 more good years left in him... same as Lu. And I'm not ever a Miller fan, I'd much rather see Hiller. Fanuck
Is there are a reason people hate Miller other than being a little over-rated? I know what happened in St. Louis, that wasn't good. I also realize he seems like a perfectionist like the 2010 version of Luongo and can be easily thrown off his game. But from what I've seen, he seems like a person that wants to win and would be open to splitting games with Lack. As long as we don't spend big $$$ or sign him long term, I don't see it as a big deal especially if Hiller signs elsewhere. I'd take Hiller over Miller, I'm just sayin' Miller is not a bad alternative. Speaking for myself, if JB is paying top dollar/term, would like to see an asset wt top pedigree (playoff wins, gold medals, cups, etc....). Miller doesn't strike me as the best out there, just the best left. If JB gets a discount, well then....
Fit_Shaced84
I'm pretty sure Benning hates our current goalies hence why he drafted Demko... I think his plan is this.. Sign Miller 4-5 years, trade one of Lack or Markstrom, Demko is in NHL within 3-5 years, 1 season of Demko as backup, then one season of a 50/50 split then Miller retires/leaves/re-signs as the backup. Demko's age/progression timeline sync's up with our current prospects much better then Lack/Markstroms do plus these are project prospects that he inherited so he has very little invested personally into them. I don't think Benning sees them in our long range plans. Not saying it's a great plan but if they are planning on "competing" throughout this rebuild then The steady veteran that Benning is familiar with from his time in Buffalo would be in his mind exactly what he needs. Again I'm not saying I like this plan so don't shoot the messenger it's just the most likely scenario I see happening and it makes logical sense. WeddingCrashers
Give him a one year deal and trade him at the deadline to the blues for the rest of their prospects! Otherwise no thanks!

ali5430
Found this funny but if you go on Ryan Millers wife's wikipedia page, you'll see it says the following: "DeWulf married Vancouver Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller on September 3, 2011." DeNiro
Maybe hea different in the room but when interviewed he either acted like a whiny bitch or an arrogant jerk. He had a right to be pissed. He stayed in Buffalo because they promised him they were gonna go for it. Then a couple seasons after they go into tank mode. The guy wants to win. And after having his name included in trade rumors for years, he probably wanted out of Buffalo. I would trust Benning to know what kind of personality he really has. The stuff you see with him and reporters may not be the real him. I think he just hates the media. Which might be the biggest reason he doesn't end up coming to Van. WillyFox
I think it would be a mistake bringing in miller I think his salary demands would be too much for us. I would take him on a short term deal though to help mentor lack for 2 years at 5 million nothing more

DeNiro
What does Myers cost? 5.5 mil. Which is steep. But I believe he can get back to his 40-50 point form. Especially with the Sedins feeding him on the point.

I think his relationship with Miller will help. If the rumored deal for Myers is real, I think Buffalo would accept it. The hardest part would be outbidding for Statsny and convincing him this is a place he can win. There's a definite opportunity here to be a big piece with Kesler gone.
