Odjickwillkillyou
Dave Molinari @Molinari Penguins sign former Philadelphia RW Steve Downie to one-year, $1 million deal. Tocchet worked well with him in Tampa. Not sure how to link to it, so here you go.
Plum
Pretty undisciplined player but a good deal for their bottom 6.
tas
fits the "raffi torres model". skates hard, hits hard, intimidates because he's a dirty, predatory player, and can knock in the occasional goal.
Odjickwillkillyou
As much as I like Dorsett, I could not help but think we could have had Downie for less cap and no draft pick. They play similar roles, but Downie has 20+ goal potential on a 3rd line. The concussions must have scared GMs away.
BOHORVAT53
Ehrhoff 4mil---40 point guy Downie 1 mil---He is a 0.5 PPG player Greiss 1 mil---I bet this guy takes Fleury's job this year Comeau 700k---200 lbs 200 hits and still 28 Great Value on those deals.. Amazing work by Rutheford

2SKATES1STICK
Steve Downie is a beast. Too bad he literally has no ability to keep his cool, cause that edge he plays with is awesome for hockey - until he fights his own teammates and generally stirs up the locker room. He has soft hands and can score 50 points(although probably will be 20~ in a third line role). I wouldn't be surprised if Downie ends up with Crosby and Malkin when they inevitably double shift their star players. He could have a massive season this year, never mind his PIMS, which i'm sure he'll have tons of opportunity to attain. Late round fantasy stud right here. CaNuCkSLoUiE23
Could end up potentially playing with Crosby. Works hard in the dirty areas and would be Sid's hitman.
Fanuck
Pit will be more aggravating to play against now.

Odjickwillkillyou
But Downie didn't play for Willie in the Hat! There is an odd feeling of familiarity amongst some of the new additions. They all seem to have the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon thing going on where had a previous relationship at one time or another. Case in point: Trev>GMJB Trev>Willie GMJB>Miller Willie>Dorsett
Milz04
would have been a good fit on the Sedins line!
CookieCrumbs
Would have LOVED Downie on the Nucks. We need more players like him with that raw aggression. Backfires from time to time, but winning teams have players like this sprinkled in their line up.

Wonder how he plans on doing that considering he is an average fighter at best.
