Erm... Recalling a guy who was cut from flames camp, made little to no impression in the nhl with them all season. Has struggled with the attention and pressure he was under with them and throwing him into probably the most high pressure situation possible, is this really a good idea?

Just as good an idea as throwing a 18yr old rook coming off shoulder surgery straight into the playoffs.

Okay wtf.. if he's actually stretchered into an ambulance this can't be a joke

Brad Ziemer@BradZiemer 2m

Burrows' eyes were open as he was loaded into ambulance #Canucks

This is strange. If Baertschi arrived in Calgary this morning then the recall occured must have occurred either yesterday or very early this morning. But if Burrows is getting taken out on a stretcher just now that sounds like something just happened.

Maybe Burrows was having some problem earlier, Baertschi was recalled, and Burrows got worse.

Erm. Who really cares about the relationship between Hartley and Baertschi though? Was Baertschi expected to produce more than 4 points in 15 games of fourth line minutes in Hartley's doghouse?

Like Linden said - it's a situational thing - depending upon the player that you need to replace, you recall the player with the skillset you want and need to insert into the lineup. It's also not likely that Baertschi plays, unless he is needed. Perhaps game 5 would be preferable if you can hand pick circumstances, but that's not how things work.

It's a high risk, high reward type situation though. Calgary has already devalued this player and dumped him for a late 2nd rd pick. The potential for this to backfire on them is greater imo than the risk of dealing a 52nd overall pick imo. They obviously had fairly low expectations of him - the anxiety that it comes back to burn them is primarily theirs. It would be a great opportunity for him if he does get into the lineup tonight. What better test could there be?

Burrows injury from Canucks PR as quoted from TSN radio, "Not a medical issue, not life threatening, it is injury related"

They're speculating a cut, or went into shock maybe.

Good news there, hopefully he's ok and the canucks can pull out a win for him tonight if he is not playing.

"Former Flame Sven Baertschi" will be last game's "18 year old Sam Bennett"

It would make for a good story. However, not looking forward to the ridiculous coverage about it. Background story. His dad. Life lessons learned. etc.

At times you just want it to be about hockey. The actual game on the ice.
