Well, if Mikkel Boedker wasn’t a first line winger on Ottawa before, he sure is now.

If you want one of three players on Ottawa who’ll find the back of the net this year, he’s available for more than what the IRL Senators got for Karlsson.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

The following has been added to the CBA and will be in effect for this upcoming season. There are currently no issues with this problem league wide, and although we don't plan on there being many in the future, I felt it is important to have this in the CBA and make sure GMs are aware of this policy in case it does happen. I always feel more comfortable knowing we have all potential avenues covered beforehand, instead of scrambling to figure out what to do in the heat of the moment.

Section 5.7 - Players Requesting Trades

It is very uncommon for players to ask for trades in our league. There are only a couple scenarios in which a player may ask for a trade.

Playing role is not good enough: For example, if a top 6 fantasy producing left winger is 3rd or 4th on his teams LW depth chart, it is very likely the player agent will approach the GM to rectify the situation. The agent will notify the GM that his client feels he should be receiving more ice time than he currently is. The GM will then be given ample time to fix the situation, whether it is moving out other players to give the unhappy player more icetime, or trading the unhappy player itself. This situation can also happen with top 4 fantasy producing defencemen buried in a bottom pairing role, or a viable fantasy starting goaltender stuck in the backup role.

NHL talent buried in the minors: For example, if there is a proven NHL player that is in the minors for reasons beyond his control (salary cap problems etc.), the player agent will approach the GM and notify him that his client should belong in the NHL. The GM will then be given time to call up this player, or make a trade involving the player to a team which would play him in the NHL.

Please note these situations will occur under the player agent’s discretion. If a player is a tweener NHLer having a career year, it is less likely that that player will ask for an increase in ice time. The same goes for the prospect, if the prospect hasn’t solidified his position as a full time NHLer yet, the player agent will not approach the team in these scenarios. All instances will also be discussed between the player agent and commissioner before GMs are informed. This will make sure the player agent only approaches teams in dire situations when a change must occur.

Should a team fail to listen to the player and player agent’s demands, consequences will follow. If an unhappy player is a pending free agent and hasn’t had their wish granted after a certain time frame (time frame is up to player agent to decide), they will not entertain re-signing with the organization at all. If the player is under contract for multiple years, they will play out the remainder of the season in which they asked for a move, but will hold out and not “report” to the team in the following season. This means that this player will not count for any fantasy points at all for your team, he will only start when he is traded to a new organization. Should it come to these circumstances, there is no situation in which the unhappy player will suit up for that same organization ever again. It is up to the player agent and team whether to make these requests public or not.

These circumstances aren’t about trying to screw GMs over, they are about making sure that every player is in a role comfortable with them. The league does not envision having to enforce these rules much in the future, however they are set in place to make sure teams do not hoard talent within their organizations.

If anyone else has anything they feel is missing from our CBA still, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Sadly with Gabe Vilardi and Conor Timmins 2 of our best Prospects will miss the Training Camp because of Injuries  .... Time will show if they´ ll join the Team later when the Season has started

or if they rather go back go back to the Juniors or probably start in the AHL in Timmins case.

Vilardi (back) is listed as week-to-week and is not expected on the ice when training camp begins, Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times reports.

ANALYSIS

Vilardi's back injury likely means he won't be on the radar of many people on draft day, as he was projected as a late-round choice at best in standard leagues. Vilardi has the talent to start the year in Los Angeles, but if he misses the majority of camp, it's likely that the Kings will start him in the AHL to allow him to get back to game shape before bringing him up to the NHL. Watch him and be ready to jump on him if and when the Kings promote him.

Timmins (concussion) is considered week-to-week, which could see him miss the bulk of training camp, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.

ANALYSIS

Given the organization's depth on the blue line, Timmins was a longshot to make the Opening Night roster, but an extended absence all but guarantees the Ontario native will find himself playing either back with his junior team or with newly formed AHL Colorado this season.

Further we are looking forward to Andrei Svechnikov. He would be a  nice addition this Season.  All 3 Players are still unsigned Prospects but we would have enough room to sign them if necessary.

The Blackhawks will announce the Training Camp Roster on Sunday
