Right...because no one ever had the idea to extort from rich people.

I will reserve judgement...but there are always two sides.  And if you read the whole story, some may have come here with intentions to do more than work for a few months.  I guess the truth will come out and is likely somewhere in the middle.

Check meaning of ‘false equivalence’ .    Two sides are not always equal with truth being somewhere in the middle.

The Acqulini group has been forced to pay and in their own letter they admit improper work standards.  Case closed.

Almost all the extorting in our world of 7 plus billion people comes from the powerful and elite doing it to the weak and poor or just people with lesser means - get your math sorted.

Bills, job hunting, house hunting, gig work, taxes.

You do not NEED the internet for that.  It helps, sure, but it is not a requirement.

What about internet access at the library?  That can help, and is paid by taxes.

Coursework for many post secondary courses as well.

Post-secondary education is not a requirement either.

As widespread as access is, the internet is still a luxury.

One problem with minimum wage is it is not the minimum wage; there are so many exemptions that the term "minimum" is a false word to use.

you get minimum unless:

you are young

working on a farm

working for family

working as a bar tender/liquor waiter

and so on

Hahahahahaha the single greatest tool the human race has invented for the spread and collection of information (good and bad), is used primarily for gaming and social media, but becomes a necessity so that people can pay their bills, look for jobs and houses and “gigs”, and to pay their freaking taxes!?

hahaha thanks that was the funniest thing ive heard in a longgggg time.

I’d say power in the dead of winter is a necessity; but you still get a bill.

Power is part of shelter, so is a necessity. Internet is still a luxury.

The fact that some have determined that access is a human right does not mean that utilizing that access is necessary.  If someone is struggling financially, their ability to make a living is not prevented if they choose to forgo the internet.

Hahaha does it matter what you are using the word “gigs” to describe?

Hahaha you are putting it up there with food and water as basic necessities for life.

We better reign in this search for life in the universe everyone. According to the doctor of funk, the internet is needed for life to exist so that gigs can be found or had or experienced. We should be looking for 5g networks instead.

It is if their job requires working on the internet.

Yes, it does. You can google what I’m referring  to or keep acting like a braying jackass. I don’t care.

If they dont have internet access, then they wouldn't have the job in the first place.

If they have the job, and find they can't keep internet access at home, they better find a way to get it, or find another job.

That’s a very previous generation thing of you to say.
