Coconuts
Devil's with the gamble, but somebody was going to make it. If they want to retain Hall they need to show him they're serious about being competitive. Devil's with some help at the draft but otherwise have done solid work this offseason. DownUndaCanuck
Complementing great young players with stars in their prime. They've got the best future centers, star wingers, absolute solid defencemen but the big question mark remains - goaltending. This team can get as flashy as they like but they need goaltending or they won't even make the playoffs. Ironically years ago Schneider was their only bright spot. kenhodgejr
I think Gusev will have a huge year. I really wanted the Canucks to get him. Worth the picks in my opinion for NJ. They have tons of skill on that team now. Will be a contender IMO

mll
Jesse Granger behind the Athletic's paywall - apparently only 2 teams interested enough to make offers. It's believed that CBJ was the other team: “There were two teams that made offers, and we went back and forth for probably a couple weeks. There’s a certain time when it’s time to pull the trigger. If there were 10 or 12 teams coming hard after us then maybe you take a little more time, but it was two and it’s been two for a long time, so it was time.” Edited July 31, 2019 by mll
