most care about ambulances and sick people getting to medical help. And parents being able to get their kids after school.

IMO most care only about themselves and are using a couple of examples that was in the paper.  You'd think there were 500,000 kids in a Pitt Meadows daycare at this rate(lol reminds me of Bure's first game - we were all there right?).  Like I said, we just had delays and bridge closures last month from the snow - yeah it sucks but there is a bigger picture at hand.

Natural gas pipeline leaking that would be pretty entertaining.

And apparently quite confusing:blink:.

I didn't come here to get into an argument.  I am against this pipeline and admire the protesters for standing up for what they believe in and pissing off Squamfan and I'll leave it at that.

Well i think global warming is actually killing millions... so pretty much a bit worse then little  Johnny getting picked up an hour late from school.....

In addition to air pollution, emissions are responsible for rising global temperatures. These in turn lead to increased humidity and cause more frequent and intense heat waves that worsen hypertension and mental health problems, and can limit the effectiveness of certain medications. When a person’s body temperature rises to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or above, systematic organ failure occurs. Heat waves this summer killed 1,435 people in France alone, the only country to have published statistics on heat-related deaths. As many of the world’s major population centers grow hotter and more humid, more people will die from simply overheating.

Climate change also compounds the threat of communicable diseases. Increased rainfall and higher temperatures favor vector-borne diseases—those caused by parasites, viruses, and bacteria transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks, flies, and fleas. Cold-blooded insects generally prefer warmer temperatures, which not only extend their breeding seasons but accelerate their geographical expansion.

As man-made climate change has taken hold over the last four decades, dozens of new infectious diseases have emerged or begun to threaten new regions, including Zika and Ebola.

The mosquito is already the deadliest animal in the world, causing more than half a million deaths each year—438,000 of them from malaria.

And those are just the direct health effects of climate change. Rising sea levels and increased ocean acidification will reduce fishing and aquaculture, aggravating malnutrition and food insecurity. Contamination of aquifers will exacerbate water shortages. Droughts, which already kill and displace more people than any other type of weather catastrophe, are predicted to grow longer and more frequent. The World Bank estimates that by 2050, there could be one billion climate refugees from sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.

Trudeau lacks complete leadership skills in allowing Canada’s economy to be shut down by a few malcontents. He has no backbone period. Meanwhile he’s busy preaching his mush in Africa and now Barbados so he can have a cushy seat on the UN. I got news for you JT, your own country is falling apart. Time to come home and deal with real issues!

Yes PM Blackface and his poor leadership can only make problems, not fix them.....but he thought he could make Iran do anything.....in thinking about that is why he willing to spend no end of taxpayer money for a spot in the UN, lord help us all!

What a message the spineless wimp of a PM is sending to empower those who have contempt for our laws in Canada. So now anyone can completely ignore our laws, our courts, and hold our country hostage without any fear whatsoever of enforcement by the Trudeau government. This message is clear, anyone can sit on a railway line without fear of any repercussions. What a mess we are in in Trudeau’s Canada.

Trudeau did not have any problem directing the RCMP to investigate Admiral Mark Norman or to interfere in the prosecution of SNC. Instead of travelling the world during a domestic crisis he should be meeting with the Commissioner of the RCMP and demanding to know what they are doing and why they are not enforcing lawful orders from the Courts.

This is the second time since re-election 4 months ago that the entire country has been halted. All railways blocked. AGAIN. And he declares he wont take action against the criminal activity. Makes you wonder what is his true involvement in all of this. Probably cutting the protesters cheques himself

This is another example of our prime minister being useless. Allowing this stupidity. It's costing taxpayers lots of money. And inconveniencing thousands but he doesn't care He's overseas spending our money.
Grow up Trudeau and do your job! #newpeimeminister

Yesterday the protests caused my wife to be  20 minutes late for her hair appointment and also even more serious.... she did not have time to stop at Starbucks for a Latte on the way...

Oh , the humanity of it all......  Call in the CDN military.

Luckily it wasn't her cancer specialist appointment that she had been waiting months for and got rescheduled as she was too late due to the protests. Oh well. Or a midterm exam that her graduation is contingent on passing. Many theoretical stories one can make up with varying degrees of seriousness.. but hey let's undermine those will actual issues.

Quote

The activists say they've spoken with RCMP officers, who've told them they're breaking the law, but there doesn't seem to be any immediate risk of arrest.

Lovely.....

Don't think VGH entrances got closed off with protestors.  You are just being dramatic...     Do you work in a creative industry ?

Wow.....

changing a cancer appointment is not  small thing. How about every thing that has gas. This includes your home, our car, and food you buy. so the best thing for you is to live in a forest and eat leaves

I adore this argument

I guess if you're pro energy/oil/gas you should stop drinking water and eating food or breathing air since that's the exact counter argument.

It's one thing to be pro-environment, but to suggest that these protests are not having serious and dangerous effects is just not accurate.
