Because the longer we wait, the less likely the return is going to help us in the now, and more so will be futures.  If we are in a playoff spot or close do we dump the rest of the season and trade him at the TDL?  Will our owner even allow that?  Why Did we take Miller off the market 2 weeks before the 2022 TDL?  It’s all been discussed here over and over.  We aren’t taking a step back.  We want a return that includes guys (23-27) who help us now.  The further the season we go, the more likely the return will be futures.

Ok no return will be a Miller so would be less for now. Will help the future but not now in your argument

lol so first you guys grill Alf for not posting the source, and now you grill him for potential fake news. Sounds like people are searching for reasons that Miller wants to stay.

Seems like if he stays, it certainly won't be on a discount. Especially after how much Gaudreau went for.

Horvat lives in London, ON.

So I guess we’re finally getting Kerfoot from the Laffs at the trade deadline.

Bo lives here.  He and his wife own a home here and this is where they live.  Miller rents here.

Gaudreau left for less money than Calgary was offering.

Form an interview with the Athletic:

As Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat joined the VANcast on Thursday afternoon from his home in London, Ont., the sounds of his 1-year-old son Gunnar crying could be heard in the background.

Miller is a UFA July 1, 2023.  He will choose a city close to his permanent home.  Much like Gaudreau just did.

You are guessing just like a return on Miller.Let it happen and again stop worrying. The price is set and will Not change.Mill is a top ten player in the league and is worth more then what you think.

Severson and McLeod would be a heck of a return that helps us right now.  Would that return be there come the 2023 TDL?  If the Devils are a playoff team are they trading Severson?  Miller becomes even more of a rental to top teams as we near the TDL.  Those teams aren’t giving up players they see as important to their playoff chances.  So we get futures.

I fully expect that Miller starts the season in Vancouver, gives 100% effort every night, breaks 35 sticks and shouts the f-word 7.8 times per period, and is leading the team in scoring by Halloween.

He's not stupid. He knows he's going to get paid big dollars over long term, but he also knows his relative value will depend on how well he plays and how much he scores next season. Make no mistake, it is a risk for Miller to end up a 59 point guy rather than a 99 point guy. That's why, unless Allvin can trade him this summer, Miller will do everything he can to enhance his future value. Win for Miller and win for Vancouver to get at least one more year of peak-Miller.

JR and PA's team know exactly what they have in Miller and are in zero hurry to do anything other than let it play out. Que sera, sera.

Again your opinion and players you want has not happened so let's just say I  not guessing and being patient on what happens.

That’s his family home.  He’s visiting.  Bo and his wife and kids own a house in North Van.  This is their home.

Miller is a heck of a player.  He’s worth a lot in trade.  My points are he’s not extending with us, and the longer we wait to trade him the more the return will be futures.

You do not fully know that as he has not said anything about his future.

The point is Miller’s returning players who can help the group this season diminishes as the season progresses.  JR/Allvin are trying to retool and not take a step back.  A TDL Trade of Miller is certainly a step back, because the return will be futures.

9.75 is still a much, much higher cap hit than many people here are projecting for Miller.

considering he was NHL #2 scorer last season, he took less.  either that, or the market isn't as good as they think it is.
