Itakura was City property up until July, and Kubo came up through Barcelona and Real Madrid (just left this past summer window). Conversely, this Germany team hasn't truly been elite since their WC win. IMO, they got by for many years by having Neuer and Kroos at the core of the team. As it stands, Musiala is probably the only bright spot on that team. Could extend to Moukoko, Wirtz, and Wanner, and maybe a few more born in the 2002-2007 range, by 2024. That's not to say they don't have quality right now - they obviously do with players like Gnabry, Sane, and to lesser extents, Schlotterback (had a bad game, though), Havertz, Raum, but they're certainly in a down period by their own standards.
