Popular Post Mike Vanderhoek
2023 Draft Report! The Devils have been a busy club after earning our third CDCGML Championship. In the weeks since we have moved out twenty million in cap and in doing so brought in 5 draft picks for the 2023 Draft. This year we wanted to focus on bringing in offensive minded and rushing defensemen. All five selections met this criteria for us and we truly believe we have added 5 future NHLers. 2023 Draft selections 1st round, 22nd overall D Etienne Morin - There were some obvious talents in this year's crop, everytime we went through our lists the one name that continued to stare at us was Etienne. Much potential and already showing a well rounded game we felt we had to take the jump and select Etienne at 22. 2nd round, 52nd overall D Aram Minnetian - Not wanting to let a local Jersey boy slip by the Devils felt Aram who has much offensive upside could not be passed over. 2nd round, 54 overall D Theo Lindstein - A very exciting young blueliner oozing with offensive potential with all the tools to produce. Have a feeling taking him at 54 could be later than where he might land on Draft day. 3rd round, 65th overall D Hunter Brzustewicz - Another defenseman we see as a potential producer from the back end for us down the road. Another player we feel was taken later in GML than he likely will go on Draft day. 3rd round, 70th overall D George Fegaras - A highly skilled offensive defenseman that was drafted last year by the Stars and is already showing his promise. 2 2
Rush17
Welcome to Philadelphia Daniel-son! We were so thrilled to be able to acquire this talented young man. He has trained furiously and we couldn't be happier to bring his dedication and focus to the franchise. We traded the 14th OA pick partly in concern we may not be able to select Danielson. We have been watching Danielson closely since last season when we were scouting for the 2022 entry draft. He was an immediate standout for us and we quickly took down his name for the 2023 class. To our surprise, he continued to play well and earn his way into the first-round conversation. We appreciate @canuck2xtreme for allowing us to connect to our Danielson. We look forward to training him to be a great warrior who can go on to win multiple championships. Edited June 25, 2023 by Rush17 2
Relyt Krets
TAMPA - After what Lightning fans expected to be a quiet draft with zero picks heading into the 2023 GML Entry Draft, Tampa Bay Lighting GM Relyt Krets managed to work 3 seperate trades, one of which saw top pairing defenseman Rasmus Anderson shipped out to Minnesota. In return for Tampa's top defenseman this past season, saw Relyt Krets acquire the 15th & 53rd overall picks, as well as young defenseman Henri Jokiharju, and top D-prospect Topi Niemela. "It is never easy to move one of your top producers on the back end, however after we brought in Shea Theodore, and with the package that was offered, we felt this was a good move for the future of the team to recoup some valuable draft stock. We thank @Dak Prescott for negotiations over the past 24 hours to complete this deal." GMRK went on to say. Shortly thereafter, GMRK dealt the 15th overall pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins for pick 25, and 2 forward prospects in Emil Bemstrom & Samuel Fagemo. "This deal came together pretty quickly on our end, given that we had no picks leading up to the draft, to acquire a 1st, we knew that we would likely deal this pick to fall back and we were very happy to do just that, as well as adding to our forward depth with what we feel is 2 very solid prospect forwards that we feel should see NHL time this season, and be apart of the teams youth for years to come. We thank @ActionJax09 for quick work on this deal.". As pick 25 was approaching, Lightining fans were kept wondering whom GMRK was going to select. Rumours that were heard is that the Lightning were targetting defesneman Mikhail Gulyayev for pick 25, but Mikhail ultimately was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks at 16th, well short of pick 25. With the player rumoured to be the Lightning's brass favourite, GMRK then dealt the pick to Winnipeg in exchange for Top 4 Dman Ryan Pulock. "I won't confirm, or deny who our target was. There was many great players we could have taken at 25, but ultimately we felt that acquiring Ryan was in our best interest given that we moved Rasmus earlier in the day. We feel that Ryan should turn the corner and contribute offensively and get back to the 40pt dman that he was only a couple years ago. We thank @canuck2xtreme for the quick negotiations on this deal." Said GMRK As the draft wound down, GMRK pulled the trigger on a deal that netted pick 107 and 124, to which were used to draft Andrew Strathmann and Carey Terrance respectively. With pick 53, Tampa Bay selected defenseman Matthew Mania. "We are very happy with our limited picks an we feel our scouting staff hit on all picks. Hearing someone like Mania is getting comparatives to the like of a Kris Letang is very exciting. Strathmann we could see running a PP some day and being an offensively gifted dman. Terrance we were kind of surprised to see still awailable so late in the draft and have hopes he can become a steady middle 6 down the road We thank @arby18_ for the willingness to move the picks, and hope that he is able to make good use of the future 3rd sent back to LA. With the draft now behind the Lightning, the focus shifts to free agency. It has been reported already that the Lightning will not be so active, but we do expect some movement over the summer given the rumblings that such players as Max Domi, Victor Olofsson, Frank Vatrano and Rickard Rakell find themselves on the trading block, but it remains to be seen just how active they will be before Training Camps open up on September 15th Projected TBL Roster Jake Debrusk - Dylan Cozens - Rickard Rakell Tyler Bertuzzi - Anton Lundell - Max Domi Michael Bunting - Jesperi Kotkaniemi - Victor Olofsson Frank Vatrano - Jean-Gabriel Pageau - Nils Hoglander Pavel Dorofeyev - Emil Bemstrom Shea Theodore - Mattias Ekholm Jake McCabe - Ryan Pulock Alexander Romanov - Henri Jokiharju Conor Timmins Ilya Sorokin Daniel Vladar 3

Popular Post J.I.A.H.N
Dallas Stars Post Draft Press Release The Dallas Stars would like to welcome Leo Carlsson, Dmitri Simashev, Michael Hrabal and Carson Bjarnson into the stars family. We see all being integral parts of the Stars future. Dallas Star's owner and GM was asked about his 4 picks in the 2023 NHL Draft, GM JIAHN said the following; Leo Carlsson will add to our already stud group of prospects, which will be starting to graduate into the Star's lineup this coming season. We see Leo, as a player who will play the middle of our future first line for years to come. Leo, has amazing skills, and can handle the rough going, all the while, controlling play. JIAHN says..."you get that with a big body offensive player!" "We are ecstatic to get Leo!" Leo would figure to go first overall in most other drafts. Dmitri Simashev, Dmitri was the best LHD in the Draft in our opinion. And will anchor our Defense for years to come. Although, it is thought that Simashev has limited offensive upside, we feel that there is still room to grow in that big body, and we hope to give Dmitri more offense opportunities, in the years, before he comes to the big club. As for Dmitri's defensive skills, well, we will let Dmitri's skills talk for themselves on the ice! Just remember to keep your head up! Some seemed surprised when we took both Michael Hrabal and Carson Bjarnson, in the first and second rounds. When asked about this move, JIAHN beamed with happiness about his 2 pedigree netminders, stating; "we had them neck and neck as the 2 best goalies in the draft, and could not help ourselves taking Carson, after already taking Hrabal, earlier in the mid 1st round. this will cement our future goaltending for years! JIAHN, also noted that, he can not believe he obtained another first in the 2024 NHL draft. JIAHN stated "it is not only a 1st round pick! It is a potential top 10 pick, with only protection for the 1st OA pick." "To be honest, we see MTL still being a year or 2 away, and will most likely be surrendering a top 5 pick." How could you not make that deal?" JIAHN is just a more than a little giddy after pulling off the coupe. We will be watching Mtl (who had an amazing 2023 draft!) with more than just idle curiosity! JIAHN would like to thank his scouting and Draft table staff for an outstanding 2023 draft, and applauds them for working in less than ideal circumstances. JIAHN could be heard uttering the words........."I will never buy another Acer laptop again!" as he left the draft table for the last time this day. ""I am going to go get a beer!" Gator
@Sludge fell for the "looking at the Gulyayev picture trap".. What a NOOB... Imagine drafting the far worst Dman because of a picture!.. #4 Dman vs #11 Dman.. So what if Gulyayev looks like Quinn Hughes 2.0! Man I hope the Coyotes take Gulyayev
