We're pretty spoiled in Vancouver given how much the craft scene has exploded here, but pretty much every town has at least one craft brewery at this point. But as an indigenous woman she enjoyed seeing the jersey design every year for Indigenous Night, and I would go over and watch that game with my Pop. She'd usually watch the first with us at least, sometimes the whole game, but normally she would lose interest. But she always liked seeing the jersey and I would tell her about the artist who designed that years jersey. But the point is, for 20 minutes my Nana who has had to spend too much of her life not feeling included, felt seen by the Canucks. It's great that you don't care, but some people do. My Nana did, and I know she'll be disappointed that a few people not wanting to support pride cost her a night where her culture was celebrated. Some die hard hockey fans may want to just see hockey with no strong attached. But many others who just acknowledge hockey as Canada's game appreciated the NHL allowed the Canucks 1 day a year to throw some high fives at groups of people that could use a little support. 6 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sorry, I was using the expression in the sense of "something popular not resonating with you", not that "You are unable to conceive of why people like it." Quite frankly I'm just interested that somehow after my entire post about how these nights mean something to some people after expressing you didn't understand the hype, you managed to get defensive and think this whole thing was about you when I replied.
