canucklehead44
He left as much of an impact as Jimmy Vesey, Travis Boyd, and Nic Dowd who funny enough all had decent careers post Canucks. The narrative around Nic Dowd in Washington was how he was seen as an upgrade on Jay Beagle when we replaced Dowd ($800k) for Beagle ($3M). Boyd had 17 goals and 35 points in 74 games the season after leaving Vancouver. Insane how badly these big bottom six contracts hurt us when guys making around league minimum ended up being far more effective. Dakota Joshua is a great example of how Allvin went out and found an untapped guy for cheap and developed him into a very strong bottom six player. If Benning got a cheap guy he expected the world from him right away and tossed them aside so fast. Boyd had a much different role on a talent starved Arizona team tho. He put up numbers like that playing mostly on their first line.

ruilin96
Nothing against Hawryluk, but I remember the off-season after losing Toffoli for nothing, Benning trying to hype him up as an important acquistion for forward... Atleast with Stecher & Tanev, at the time I could get behind the idea of replacing them with Hamonic and Schmidt. Markstrom was replaced by Holtby.
