  1. I believe those "moron" fans chanted "Louuuuuuuu...."
  2. Geez! It's the first month of the season and not over yet. A young season and teams are still working the bugs out. Ferland was sick, and Boeser missed training camp. Petey getting more attention from opponents creating less ice for him, let alone adapting his game to a smaller ice surface. New players working out their roles in the system . Wait till December. See where we are and pass judgement then.
  3. Is Pod playing in the upcoming Canada/Russia super Series? Is he available or even eligible?
  4. Hmmmmm..........does HR need to make an appearance............... (:
  5. I really don't think that's the case. BH seems to come off to me as a humble, stand up guy and only stating that if it's to be, he'll take the reigns and be the guy. Yes he was touted as future captain material in his draft and the departure of Hank has put that mantle on BH. He knows it, you know it, we all know it. Even Jonathan Toews knows it! A captainless hockey team is not uncommon. That being said.................. Bo is the #1 choice for the "C". Go Bo!
  6. Well put together. Very nicely done. IMO, worthy for the season opener or the beginning of the first SN Canucks telecast for this season!
  7. Well.....I usually get excited when NHL camps kick in and all the hoopla around it. Mostly anything involving the 'Nucks! It's an annual condition that I'm afflicted with come September. I can't get excited about top teams and what they do. But I do get excited when we acquire significant players of top teams; Miller, Beagle, Myers........ Basically a childlike anticipation to see our new look 'Nucks coming out. Much like X-mas for a kid!
  8. Him and Petey with their Capilano Audi endorsements. Goldy's committed to this city. Not just as a Canuck. I endorse Goldy. Make it happen kid!!!!
  9. Been a 'Nucks fan since mid '70s. Basically 'cuz of "Suitcase" Smith. What a great personality he was! I'm definitely what I would describe as a 'hopeful' fan. I try to watch every game on TV. Even if I PVR it to watch later and my workmates leak out the final result. Yeah. I'm pathetic. I'll still watch it. But really, I'm more realistic. Our acquisitions of late and drafting gives cause to be hopeful. Management and cap issues aside, there's a good chance to make the playoffs this coming season. Haha! Here's hoping! (:
  10. I know his chemistry and successs with the Sedins in international play had alot to do with his acquisition. Obviously didn't pan out the way management thought though. so........................ I went with the 3rd option of, "A good season maybe, say 40 points." Really, that's what Id like to see. I don't care if he gets mega points or not. If his contributions towards success and wins for our Canucks has positives, then great. In so much as we'd like to see, "success," translate to visible stats point wise, if he stays on the plus side of things and makes life miserable for the opposition with his defensive play, I'm good with that. However, in order for him to succeed, he must be given "consistent" opportunities to succeed.
  11. OJ has been hampered with injury. But injury or not, didn't Mat Ohlund take a few years to finally play in the NHL....
  12. Almost all those players and their respective teams mentioned by the OP, save for Boston, were drafted in the top three. Highly regarded and deemed franchise building prospects. We haven't had a franchise player since Trevor Linden, 2nd overall his draft year. As a matter of fact, he's the only one! Seems JB is going for the Boston way. Good drafting with higher draft players shining. A bit of luck of course is involved. Some of our later picks might surprise! Of course could luck out and get a top three either this Tuesday or future drafts. That'll change things for sure!
  13. He and Petey are Audi driving buds. No way. Goldie's going nowhere. Canuck forever!
  14. I dunno.....maybe reduce his minutes and give him 2nd or 3rd pairing duties. However, only after we get a top pairing younger d-man to replace him.
  15. You can watch him play on TSN2 this Friday 4pm vs Providence.
  16. I understand we're all individuals with personal agendas. At the time and now, Tree's as such, were obviously not gonna be based in North America. Quite frankly if he doesn't want to return to N.A. or the Canucks, so be it! Russian or not. That's not really the issue. At least Goldy, even with his troubles, seems to be trying to make it here. Commitment! That's all one can ask.
  17. Bang on! TG just has to give Virt more minutes. Let him make mistakes. Let him play and find himself even more. Lately Virt's been paying well and to be honest, I do notice him more when he's on the ice; partly 'cuz I so want him so to succeed, but also 'cuz his his natural abilities do shine. I look to see more drive to the net type scoring and ugly big guy in front of the net type goals. BTW, is there any other thread in CDC that has 1026 pages and climbing? Go Canucks Go!
  18. That's harsh. But I understand why anyone would feel that way. Not me though. That whole Messier/Keenan era was a highly disappointing and frustrating time. There's no way that the acquisition of LE busted up our team as much as that. Yeah. Thus far he's not produced the points/goals as expected upon his signing. And he's certainly had injury maladies since joining that didn't help matters in that regard. That being said.............................. ..........................LE definitely has upside. IMO a keeper for the term he's with us.
  19. Size, speed and good skating ability, great wrist shot and release.....Virt's made for the new NHL. I'm glad we got him on our team. Yes, he needs some work on other aspects of the NHL game, but you cant deny that his skillset is an asset. I really hope he finds his game with us. Go Canucks Go!
  20. Now all he's gotta do is work on his skating in the off season like Horvat did.
  21. Glad to have him back and a full, relatively healthy roster again. Not saying we're gonna go on a tear. Though TG still had our injury riddled team keep up the persistent energy style, maybe with everyone back we might win a few here and there now. Go Canucks Go!
  22. Seriously?!?!?!?!?!??? I appreciate your optimism. I really do. However, I'm pretty sure I don't share such. Let me put it this way............... Boeser and Pettersson will be elite allstar players. My thinking is that they, along with Horvat, and possibly Juolevi ,will be the top payed players by the time we seriously contend. It seems the normal practice. All of Toews, Kane, Crosby and Malkin all got big pay raises before winning the big one. And even before their SC wins, they were playoff contenders. My guess is all of the old 2011 core will be gone by the time that happens. I'd really love for the Sedins and yes, even Edler to win the big one as Canucks, but can we really expect that to happen in 2018/2019. I mean, come on!
  23. What exactly is Baer to our team? I'm still trying to figure that out. It seems to me that he's only as good as the players around him. I like that he charges for the net and gets shots. But I don't think he's a game breaker kinda' guy. Or is he..............hmmmmmmmmm........
