Wow, this is awful... Those massive waves coming in so slowly makes it so dramatic and surreal...

Thoughts and prayers with everyone there, and it really makes you think about when our's is coming...

How come there are no numbers about the approximate number of victims anywhere? Am I just missing them or something?

8.9 is a monstrous quake. One of the largest recorded earthquakes in history.

I'm without a TV, so I can't watch any of the footage besides the one 2.5 minute video I watched from the OP's post.

Regardless, I hope the people escape the worst of it and recover quickly. They're quite the resilient nation.

Too soon to find out.
This all has to settle before anyone can even focus on that at the moment unfortunately. You can literally see people driving/running away from the wave atm.

I had a friend who was a peacekeeper. He had to go dig out bodies....this is going to happen in Japan soon.
This makes me so sad. My home country being destroyed...

DEFINITELY pray for the people in Japan!

EDIT: this puts so much perspective into things, about what's really important (like someone else said earlier)
I can't even IMAGINE what it's like to go through something like that (too terrified to look)
God bless that land and hope the damage/casualties are minimal and that their lives can indeed pick back up to normal

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Jesus LOVES YOU!
2012, meet Matthew 24:36-47!

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Japan is handling this well, thankfully. They're actually going back into their offices and resuming their workdays.. Preparations have been well in place ahead of this.

Just chatted with a friend living in Tokyo. He says they thought their building was going to collapse. Thought he was about to die... :(

Yeah, Japan is no stranger to earthquakes, so they've been well prepared.

This is sickening to see the waves swallow up people and cars with people in them...

This is tragic.

You know, with all these things happening it does make me think that this is all freakishly similar to what the Christian religion writes to be 'the end times.' I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.
