this is how I feel about it. Luongo wasn't playing badly. Now, if we get eliminated and our #1 is on the bench that sets up a disastrous scenario. If we win we ride Schneider, you can't possibly pull him after that. Luongo's got to be pissed.

(and for everyone ushering in a new era if we do stick with schneider and move luongo, how long you think until this city then turns on schneider like it did lu? one season? two? bah).

EDIT: or I'm reading into everything too much. We looked good in game 3 so AV doesn't want to change much from that. plain and simple no other thoughts behind it.

One bad game!

Just a matter of time before people run Lu out of the city and turn on Schneider.

Vancouver is becoming a brutal place to play for. Just look even Kesler lost heart and started diving. I could never see him doing that before. They only player that looked to me like he wanted to win was Lu and now they stuck him on the bench.

seriously? do actually watch games, or just highlights and interviews?

So if Schneiderman wins tonight, does he start game 5?

That's a given. He lost game 3 and he's starting, it make no sense at all not start him if he won...

It has been for along time , Most fans dont know what they got until its gone and then they come back and get there number retired and people claim to have all this love for the player ( Naslund )

The same can be said for Cory and he is one of our best ever draft choices groomed under us and we trade him? Do you like the Canucks or Lou?

You sleep through the game and check stats after?

If anyone with basic hockey knowledge actually watched the games you could see goaltending was not a problem and Lu was playing fine. Now goal tending is a problem. Among the other things.

Really bad move. You will see later and I will be here pointing it out.

What are you smoking? No, it's not. It hasn't been all series.

The problem is the team in front of them.

Correct decision, IMO. If not for blown coverage, Schneids would have shut out the Kings last game.

Your an idiot, that was a terrible rebound and thats exactly what you would of said if Luongo was in net you tool.

Most analysts want Schneider to start. Moj on team 1040, Shorthouse wanted Schneider to start.

AV chose Schneider to start. Most fans want Schneider to start.

It's pretty obvious who people see as the better goaltender.

Those who don't are like Luongo homers who hope we lose today because Schneider is starting.

Honestly, the only reason I can see why they're choosing Schneider is to protect Luongo.
If we lose tonight, Luongo won't be torched to death by fans like you or the media.

That's pretty sad don't you think? You're on the brink of elimination and you start your back up because you need to protect Luongo.

I'm surprised. Thought for sure they would start with Luongo, but I can't say I'm unhappy. I support both goalies, but think it's better in our long-term interests to put our faith in Schneider.

Looks like they're going in that direction now...it's hard to cut ties with Schneider if he becomes the starter in the playoffs.

Then why do all these experts who watch hockey every day and are paid to focus on hockey want Schneider to start?

The same ones that have us from the finals last year to early sweep this year?

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

Why do some think this town will "turn on him"

It's not the history you think it is. We never turned on King Richard and Captain Kirk. Cloutier was terrible and Lu just finds new and amazing ways to do the wrong thing at the wrong time. Corey is very likable and respected in this city and not just for his gameplay.

I am not advocating a "trade Lu" personally, I would be happy if Lu got it together and back to the form when he got here but I am perfectly comfortable with Deschnieds in net.

I was saying Lu-Urns...

The funny thing is that Luongo IS better than Schneider.

Funny thing is MOST would disagree with you including the management team that decided to start him tonight.

It is sad but the very reason he needs protection is because of people like YOU or the media.

Both goaltenders are great and both can win us the game tonight. The problem is, if we lose 2-1 with Luongo in net, you would rip him apart while pointing out how he lost other series for us. If we lose 2-1 with Schneider in net, you won't just because you like him and media will go quietly.

I think this is a screw up on par with the Hodgson trade.

Now instead of having forward and defensive problems...

... Add goalie to the problem list now too.

That is a stupid thing to say.

There really is no correct decision for tonight's starting goaltender because neither Luongo nor Schneider was the reason we lost.
The team did play the best in Game 3 but that's hardly because Schneider was in net.

I've been playing for longer than you've be alive, so careful who you call "stupid".

I never said Lou was the reason we lost. However, Schneider's play in game three earned him the next start, IMO. An opinion shared by the head coach.

I guess I can assume that you're one of those so impressed with his own knowledge that you think it trumps that of an actual NHL coach, is that about it?
Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

I predicted that the team has been on a downhill spiral ever since 'the trade'.

A sweep actually wouldn't surprise me. Specially with Kassian and Kesler being no shows..

Oh and Cory still lost the last game. Luongo was playing better from what I saw. This just sets Schneider up for failure and makes luongo look bad. Stupid move and not going to make a difference since the problems is what's in front of our goalies.

its a team game which showed the team played ALOT better game 3...hes taking that into account.
