GLASSJAW
It’s a new Canadian musical power couple: People magazine is reporting that Napanee’s own pop star Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger are engaged. Lavigne, 27, and Kroeger, 37, first got together in February to co-write a song for Lavigne's upcoming fifth studio album, People reports. Now after a six-month relationship, the Canadian rockers are planning to get married, Lavigne's representative said. “A romantic relationship blossomed as they spent time writing together,” said a Lavigne insider. On Aug. 8, Kroeger reportedly proposed, presenting Lavigne with a 14-carat diamond ring. It will be Kroeger's first marriage and the second for Lavigne, who split from Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley in 2009. She had also dated Brody Jenner recently. Sharpshooter
Best wishes to them both. Not sure why anyone would have a negative reaction to a couple of Canadians getting hitched.
Miss Korea Bob.Loblaw
Yes, butters, they do indeed. Its kind of funny, actually. Between Nickelback (50 million+) and Lavigne (30 million+), over 80 000 000 albums have been sold worldwide. It's sad that people rarely admit that they own them. Best wishes to 2 Canadian Music icons!

Tearloch7
I had avoided both Nickleback and dear Avril successfully until I bought a tribute album dedicated to John Lennon, with the proceeds going to Amnesty or some worthwhile cause .. then I listened to Avril sing "Imagine" .. and no, I could NOT imagine the result .. it may be the worst cover I have ever heard .. even John may have trouble forgiving her .. never the less, I wish these two "icons" all the success in the world .. "True Love Will Never Die", or so Mr. Knopfler sings .. we shall see ..
