I thought that was Schroeder at first, and I was hoping it was. But none the less a nice shot by Miskovic.

And Kassian had a good game.

Although the wolves aren't loaded with stars, it's good to see them doing well.

I wanna see what Mallett's got. If he can chuck em with the big boys I wouldn't mind the Nucks taking a long look at him. Looked like a heart and soul player in junior. If not I'd like to see Pinizzotto and Volpatti flank the wins of the 4th line whenever the next season starts.

I bet Longpre has a shot at an NHL contract this weekend when they play the Heat. Gillis will be in attendance, I hope the kid impresses.

For sure he has a shot. But given the CBA situation, I think he has to consistently put up an effort until the it gets resolved. Maybe under normal circumstances he gets signed this weekend, but IMO, even a strong showing right now won't get him one if he goes cold when the new CBA kicks in and Gillis can sign guys.

He definitely has potential like you said of earning that contract, though. I mean, he has the coach's trust to play in place where a guy we have under contract like Friesen (though, to be fair, this is Friesen's rookie season as a pro) could play.

Sidenote, Mallet played the last two games also forcing Friesen to sit. I mean, if he can hold an AHL roster spot with the depth that this team has due to the NHL lockout, it seems like we got a decent pick out of him IMO. I really like Friesen, and hope he can get back into the lineup soon and show what he got.

Agreed, Longpre's goal last game was impressive.

Am I the only one that is not impressed with the wolves at this game. The kassian goal was a fluke and they won by 1 goal. The Heat beat this team by a total of 10-3 in two games. So far not impressed with the wolves. I hope they prove me wrong this year

peoria did seem to control much of the game, but peoria may have just been getting into the swing of things against abby.

the wolves have only won their first 3 games 4 times in the history of the team, and 3 of those times they won the calder, so there is good reason to be impressed/excited.

Im sorry.... get into the swing of things against abby? Peoria had 3 pre season games where abby had none. Peoria should already be in the swing of things. One of those pre season games were against the wolves. I understand where your coming from but i'm still not impressed. Please prove me wrong wolves.

Kassian needs to shoot forehand when he's on a breakaway. The last 5-6 breakaways I've seen him on were all fumbles trying to go back hand shelf.
