It makes all the sense to trade Schneider now.

We got Eddie Lack, who will be our future. If Luongo goes, Lack will be gone soon too because he won't want to back up Schneider for many years, while Schneider is trying to become a number 1.

No he wouldnt, if anything, it makes sure CS doesnt feel too comfortable like Luongo was in 08/09 when he didnt have CS competing for his job.

Also backing up CS>>>>>>>backing up Luongo for another decade lol.

No Lack will be backing up Schneider a lot longer than Lu strictly based on age. Schneider is still trying to establish himself and if he is our number 1 and plays well, Lack will be backing him up for a long time while Schnieder is in his prime.

Based on potenital Schnieder should have a solid 8-10 years, Lu only has 3-4 tops of solid years. Trading Schnieder now is not a problem when we got another young goalie with potential waiting.

They arn't going to trade Schneider. Pretty sure the organization made it clear during the playoffs last year, and with his recent contract that they want to go with him. Plus I don't think it would be a great confidence booster for Lou to keep him given all the explicit trade talk.

What if CS decides he doesnt want to play in a fish bowl anymore and bolts after his contract is up?

Would rather back up a goaltender whose locked up for over a decade or a the guy with the 3 year contract? alot can happen in 3 years.

You still don't get it, Lu has a contract for 10 years left, don't mean he is your starter for 10 years. If Schnieder plays well and signs an extension, he will be our starter for a solid 5-7 years like Lu has been. No back up will stick around for that many years especially a guy like Lack who is young and has potential.

He is Schnieder's shoes 3 years earlyier.
