Your right. Kesler is the best. We will win the cup when he gets back. He will win the Conn Smythe and take the "C" from Henrik. He will be the first player-coach in the NHL in 50 years. He will tell MG to go down to a 3 line team so he can get about 30 min of ice time each game. He will be the first American born player to win the Hart trophy 3 years in a row. He will patent his wrist shot from the blue line. So no other player can use that move like he successfully did for one season.

Some of this Edler hate makes me cringe... He is excellent in the offensive zone, good passes and good hard shots, and can hold his own in the defensive zone with his size and speed. To have him as a 2nd pairing offense first d-man (provided he is used that way) for 5 mil a season is a blessing and half the teams in the league would have paid way more than that for him.

I know I am young and didn't watch the Canucks through their losing years in the mid-late 80s and early 90s, and again on and off in the late 90s and 2000s (started watching regularly in the 2003-2004 season), but I honestly feel blessed to watch this team and call it my home team. We have a super star first line, an excellent (when healthy) second line centre, and great complimentary players. I think this team team can make a solid push in the post season.

Will I be disappointed if they fail? Yes. And was I expecting them to go farther last year? Yes.

But and the end of the day I get to watch what I call "my team" win more than half of their games and play more than just the regular season.

I think some people here will be pleasantly surprised with how much of a difference a healthy roster makes to our offence and defense. Yes we would need a piece or 2 to be in top contention for the cup, but how much of a difference does a 50-70 point per season, defensively responsible, faceoff winning, centre make to a team that is playoff bound without him?

I guess I am an internal optimist, who is rarely agitated. But I get fulfillment out of watching this team and think more people should be grateful of what we have.

Showed some heart getting back within one. but it really wasn't a good effort tonight.

The fact still stands is that not once have we had a 100% healthy line up, and that's huge. Almost half the team is rookies or AHLers.

Whatever moves MG does at the deadline, and getting Kesler and Kass back will help. Just hang in there people.

wow fly off the deepend much ... if you look at it from an ice time perspective it makes sense. optimistically.

I dont think Kesler is the same player but in theory the idea seems logical on paper.

Keslers line would get more tough assignments freeing up the twins more .plus he is the right handed shot on on the pp point off wing that they are missing.

I just have to say, a pretty solid effort from the refs. For the 2nd time in the last 3 games they managed to accomplish not calling any penalties against the opposing team the Canucks were facing that would result in a Canucks power play (The player Pinizzotto fought got a fighting major along with him this game). I wonder if that's ever happened before?

During the off-season, it was revealed that Kesler had been playing with a shoulder injury since February 2012. Suffering from a torn labrum, he underwent surgery for the injury in May. Initially expected to have recovered by mid-November, his rehabilitation was extended for several months due to an additional wrist injury which he received surgery for in late-June.

Is this news to you?

Guys, do you honestly believe this team can make it past the 1st round? I know it's great and all to be "real fan" and be positive, but come on, let's call a spade a spade. You can't really be watching this team and tell me at the same time they're good to go past the 1st round. Please...
