Ghostsof1915
Kesler looked like he couldn't find his legs until the 3rd period. (Is he not quite in game shape? Or still injured?) The Sedins and Edler all look gun-shy, they hesistate when they get the puck. Our power play baffles me. We have a guy with a total cannon in Garrison yet our power play consists of Edler, Kesler, Henrik and Daniel, and Burrows. And only Burrows will crash the net. Hamhuis had a rough game, which is very uncharacteristic. Ebbett is too small to be effective against a large team like the Sharks. Weise takes a dumb penalty to start the game, he played ok afterwords (He did get 5 hits). Corrado, despite being -1 wasn't the problem on the ice. People criticizing the team for playing him, guess what he was one of the better D-men last night. The linesmen didn't seem to know what icing or an offside was. My Suggestions: Bench Ebbett and Weise. Put in Lain and Jensen. D. Sedin H. Sedin Kassian Burrows Kesler Raymond Higgins Roy Hansen Lain Lapierre Jensen Hamhuis Garrison Edler Bieksa Ballard Corrado If Tanev is ready drop Ballard Pray that Schneids can start Friday. And pray the team shows up on Friday for 3 full periods.
Garrison
I'm not blaming Lu. But we need Schneider in net, he is a winner. The team plays with more confidence with him in net. We won't win the series with Lu in net.
CANUCK-EXPRESS
Enough with the ppl saying "it's only one game", when they lose the second game you're gonna say the same thing "ohh it's only 2 games" or "c'mon guys it's a best of 7 series" NO stop that we always say the same thing every year and what do we get?? Absolute crap from this team! NO HEART, NO KILLER INSTINCT WE HAD IN THE 2011 Playoffs. ABSOLUTE JOKE
falcon45ca
Game 1 was eerily similar to the regular season. Let's hope the guys can get their act together & not play game 50 of the regular season on Friday.

Absolute crap from this team! NO HEART, NO KILLER INSTINCT WE HAD IN THE 2011 Playoffs. ABSOLUTE JOKE These comments always leave me wondering, why are you subjecting yourself to something so painful? They do have heart & killer instinct...they showed it in the second when they took control of the game....unfortunately, there was one more period to go and they ran out of gas and the Sharts capitalized on that. They did not look terrible, as your rant would indicate. I was so totally impressed in the second because they came out really strong. They still have to battle some BS with the refs but they've totally overcome reacting to it and they were punishing the Sharts with some crunching hits. I think that took it's toll...the third, they were running out of gas. Sure, we do need to score but SJ was clogging up their crease and it wasn't easy...that was part of their obvious gameplan. We totally outhit them and we outshot them...it's all about getting the opportunities and then cashing in. They did that when it counted most in the third. I'm, by no means, jumping off the bridge with the rest of you....someone wins, someone loses. Was not a disaster as anyone who didn't watch the game and enters in here would think. Saw some great things...unfortunately, we have to find a way to score. Love Danny, but he's tentative right now...a few opportunities lost when he overthought and didn't react quickly enough. Sometimes that works...to have the patience but, last night, it didn't. In the recent past it's been "OMG no push back, they're not tough enough". Now it's "OMG no scoring, they're not trying". It's going to take a balance between both and they have the ability and players to do so. Here's the thing, hockey fans - it isn't that easy to win a Stanley Cup by sweeping series as some have obviously set the bar at. They lost game one and did some good things and some not so good. Get over it. Not burning my jersey yet, that's for sure.
TheFastOne21
Sedins need Kassian. Why? Because Kesler needs Burrows. Kes and Burr are awesome together, Kassian plays well with the Sedins. Then we need to get away from skill in the bottom 6 and get more defensive/physical domination which is hard since we basically have a Top 9 and a Bottom 3. Do this as several others have suggested: Sedin - Sedin - Kassian (Daniel needs to fire the puck, Sedin confidence is evidently lacking.) Raymond - Kesler - Burr (didnt like Raymonds game but he was trying to create so ill keep him here.) Higgins - Roy - Hansen (Basically a Line 2B, plays well together, can backcheck and be responsible defensively.) Gaunce/Lain - Lapierre - Weise (Need to be everything a bottom 6 has to be in 1 line. Hope they can achieve this.) Let Gaunce or Lain play. Yes they have no experience but that is not always a bad thing. The entire bottom 6 of LA minus Stoll had no XP and dominated the entire playoffs and won a cup. Boston's bottom 6 had limited XP and were good. They are a big body that can create traffic and trouble. HEART > EXPERIENCE. If we can get kids in that want to dominate then give them the opportunity because the others are not worried about playing all out. All of that said. LETS GO CANUCKS! This is FAR from over and this team can do it.

Dogbyte
We played good but the Sedin's sucked donkey ass. Too bad our 6.1 million dollar stars can't play hockey without each other because that sure would help distribute the attack and create opportunity. Monty
Don't want to read all 18 pages, but I can only imagine CDC is out in full force with helpful posts like "Fire AV!!!!" or "WAT WUZ REFUSREEZ DOOINZ!2!@1!@##?" Postives: 1. Luongo gave the team a chance to win. 2. Physical, Physical, Physical. 3. Defense was good. Negatives: 1. Puck movement was bad in offensive zone. 2. Few shots from the point. 3. Powerplay was terrible. In the end, the Canucks dominated the physical game. If they can ease up a little the next game and focus some of that energy into creating scoring chances, the should come out ahead.

nuck nit
It was a good game, great Canucks effort. Corrado totally screwed Luo on the 2-1 goal and Gillis never replaced Manny's contributions in the circle. The Sharks dominated with 6 -SIX- centre ice men available on ice and converted to wingers. No veteran RH d man(Alberts and Corrado not exactly Stanley Cup potential) and lacking possession on the faceoff hurt the outcome.

TheTruthHurts
Same thing is going to happen like last year. Game 1. Its ok its only one loss no big deal still 6 more games. Game 2. Well we have to play better on their home ice, which i think we can totally do. Game 3. Frack.

XX_canucks33_XX
we were outplayed by the Sharks plain and simple. Mason tried to get the puck and forgot Boyle who was approaching the no-man zone near the net and scored the GWG. We haven't won a game against Sharks this season. AV should use Schroeder instead of EBBET. Give the young talent exposure to the playoff. If we cannot find an answer against Sharks, this is a short Playoff series....and Im afraid it will be a sweep. If that is the case...... get rid of AV...its time to find a new coach.
