RAMBUTANS
Didn't I tell you all that MG will do NOTHING significant? He's a lame duck GM who benefitted from the former GM's building blocks. He sowed when Nonis was about to reap.
DownUndaCanuck
We don't need any big moves. On paper, the Canucks are up there and definately a top-5 team. However, our coaches absolutely botched last season. We still have the 2 best passers in the league in the Sedins. We have a Selke-worthy center in Kesler (he played great in the few games he played, at a 60-70 point pace) We have plenty of playoff-type powerforwards (Burrows, Booth, Higgins, Kesler, Hansen, Kassian) We have lots of good youth coming in (Jensen, Gaunce, Schroeder, Tanev, Corrado) We have what very easily could be one of the best top-4 defences in the league (Edler, Garrison, Hamhuis, Bieksa) We have some great depth on defence too, with 9 (now 10 with Corrado) NHL-ready defencemen We have the best goalie depth in the league, and Schneider had bursts of Vezina-worthy play We have what very easily can and should be the league's best powerplay On paper, the Canucks are still a contending team. However, AV, Brown and Bowness dragged this team down with them in the playoffs. All we need is a change of coaches and the players will hopefully play better. BedBeats™2.0
People have got to be incredibly stupid and lazy with research if they really believed major moves would be made. Now i read on this thread that firing AV wasnt considered bold. Hey dumbass`, it was a 48 game season. Be patient.

goblix
I'd be happy to see some front office changes... Specifically to the scouting department. Too many of our own BC Boys get missed in the late rounds, (lucic, gallager). I'd also like to see what a different / new coach could do with the likes of Booth, Ballard, Kassian, Jensen, Schroeder, Gaunce.
gamasutra
If you don't like it. Don't watch the games. Simple.

Gollumpus
This is the best run of winning years this franchise has had, try being a fan in the paper bag decades of the 70's and 80's and a lot of the 90's. Guy's like you are the joke that can't put up with a little bit of hard times.
elvis15
After reading a few of the comments on the first page, it seems like people think the offseason was going to look like 3/4s of the threads in the proposals forum. All Gilman is saying is for people not to expect an overhaul of the team, but he doesn't discount any and all changes. Let me put it this way, Gilman saying don't expect big changes means we aren't trading Schneider, Edler, the Sedins and our 1st. That doesn't mean Luongo, one or both of Booth and Ballard, and maybe another few pieces not involved in our core or a part of our top prospects won't be moved either. Calm down people, June doesn't get here until tomorrow, and there's the entry draft, free agency and the rest of summer yet to go. EDIT: Don't know if anyone had posted a link to the actual interview yet: http://www.teamradio.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Laurence-Gilman-w-B-Mac-and-Taylor.mp3
Spoosh
Yup. Gillis thinks a coaching change is the key.
etsen3
I'm not sure what he means by this. I'm not asking him to do a full rebuild if that's what he means. But there do need to be changes, not just small tweaks to the roster.
J529
Have to wonder if Gills and Gilman ever communicate. Gillis says there will be changes and now Gilman is saying don't expect major changes. Speaks volumes about the state of this team and how it got there.
RUPERTKBD
I doubt he thinks that's going to fix everything. He liked AV's system all along and probably would have wanted to keep him if the team had gone even a bit further into the playoffs.

Vansicle
I am paraphrasing, but his interview essentially said: So much for all the changes we wanted. Looks like the management group is going down with the core. Should be a sad state of affairs in 3-5 years.
Tr4ilerP4rk
I'm pretty sure they purposely say the opposite things just to screw with the media. I wouldn't read too much into either Gilman or Gillis. Nobody knows whats available, until it happens.
doobiedoodoo
What are they going to do? Have a "for trade" sign up? Yeah, that went real well with Luongo.
