According to sources close to the situation, the Sabres and Hodgson are still far apart on a new contract for the pending Restricted Free Agent, and Buffalo will listen to offers for the young center. The team is not shopping him, but wants to keep options open in case a deal can’t get worked out. Still, I wouldn’t read too much into it as both sides, according to the source, want to get a deal done. The only true thing standing in the way is the amount of money being paid.
