Steve Carell
I don't get why we want Miller? are we trying to compete or are we trying to give our young players a chance to play (er, get a good draft pick for rebuild) why ice a 'half pregnant' team... again? don't sign him. play lack. lose dramatically with a young roster, get a good pick Kevin Lowe, is that you? RunningWild
Played on the worst team in the league... That's a funny argument. Cause his stats were better in Buffalo than they were in St Louis. Yeah, let's ignore the facts where Miller played on BUFFALO. The god damn SABRES. Also, to people wanting Hiller... He did WORSE than Miller while on the best team in the West and got chased by a 20 year old goalie Haven't really looked at Hillers stats. I dont want Miller, but this is laughable.... he played for the worst team in the league 3/4 of the year... put Patrick Roy in his prime on that buffalo team and let's see how good the stats are.. Again, better stats in Buff than St Louis.
Smashian Kassian
Yeah I don't know how I feel about this, if its a 1 year deal then whatever, maybe he plays well and we flip him for a 2nd at the deadline.
DeNiro
That's a funny argument. Cause his stats were better in Buffalo than they were in St Louis. Meaning what? He played better for a worse team? That's good for the Canucks, cause they're not as good as the Blues right now.
HockeyHobo73
A nice rainy day to help them showcase Vancouver. I can't believe the hate Miller gets on here. He's a great goalie who would be a good mentor for Lack, and maybe more importantly Demko. It's not like we have to sign the guy to a 10 year deal. He'd be here until Lack can handle 60-70 games on his own, or someone else emerges as a clear number 1. This, and if Miller doesn't pan out, we can trade him to a contender for a 1st round pick +
dukeofcanuck
Meaning what? He played better for a worse team? That's good for the Canucks, cause they're not as good as the Blues right now. Thats debatable yes they made the playoffs, but if I recall we beat them every time we played each other.
asian player
Haven't seen Benning with contracts yet so we'll see how this one goes. Our management seems good at persuasion. Got Benning and Desjardins here. Convinced Garrison to leave his hometown Nothing over 3 years/$4 million per
RunningWild
Meaning what? He played better for a worse team? That's good for the Canucks, cause they're not as good as the Blues right now. You posted "played for worst team in league" Inferring his poor stats last season were tied to playing behind a poor Buffalo team. I posted "his stats were better in Buff than Stl". Meaning, that's not really an argument I'd use if I were trying to sell Miller to Canucks. I'm saying it doesn't matter if he played behind a bad Buff team, or STL team that gave up some of the fewest scoring chances in the league - he's not a gamble i would take. As I mentioned in the other thread, he's not an upgrade on rookie Lack IMO.
7thMan
Thats debatable yes they made the playoffs, but if I recall we beat them every time we played each other. What? Many were predicting the Blue to win the Cup. They were fourth in the league...
Sergei Shirokov
I don't understand why people wouldn't want R.Miller. He's a world class goaltender. I have nothing against Lack, but he a very inexperienced goaltender, and we've seen how hard it to play in this market.

I don't see any problems with signing Miller as long as he is on a short 2-3 years term without a NTC. If we become sellers next year at the trade deadline, I can see Miller fetching us a prospect or a late 1st or 2nd rounder depending on how he performed next year. I cost us absolutely nothing to sign him that is if he is willing to play for a mediocre Canucks team. Even though we are on a rebuild/retool, we want to stay competitive with a winning attitude. Tanking for McDavid may sound like the easy thing to do to make us better in the future but you are asking the Canucks to follow what the Oilers did for the last decade, how successful are they now with all those high draft picks? sabatoge95
I would only like this if it was a 3 year deal or less, but considering these huge contracts that the big name UFA's sign, I doubt it. Lack will be ready to be our starter very soon and I'm not sure what this means for Markstrom. I trust Benning though.
DeltaSwede
If Miller is indeed signed, Markstrom won't be happy at all. I could see him giving up on his NHL dream if this happens and going to the KHL/SHL. Would be a shame because I think he has a ton of potential still and it would be wasted in the AHL. Miller is obviously a high end goaltending in this league but it needs to be for the right price. I might be convinced if he lets me go on a date with his wife/girlfriend Noureen Dewulf

Coconuts
I don't want him, if it's anyone I'd like Hiller. Otherwise just stick with the young guys and see who grabs the job.
karltee
I'm just curious what's with all this Miller hate? There seems to be a preference of Hiller over Miller. Why is that?
