While we know Murray will have to share the net with Fleury until that situation is resolved, we feel he will be a starting goalie eventually and after watching the playoffs it's hard to not trade for a 22 year old who just won a Cup who has big upside. Schmaltz has been projected to play with Toews or somewhere in the Hawks top 6, and is their top prospect. When he's drawing comparasions to being Saad 2.0, it's hard to ignore the potential. We have a very deep forward core (with 2-3 prospects possibility getting roster spots IRL yet), and are willing to move a player or two to get a big upgrade on defense, if not we are perfectly fine heading into the season as is.
