STANDINGS PREDICTIONS GAME:

  • Predict seeds 1 through 8 in the Western and Eastern Conference.
  • Predict the two teams to make it to the Cup Final, pick a winner.

Scoring Guidelines:

  • One point for predicting a playoff team correctly (max 16 points)
  • One additional point if seeding for a team is correct (max 16 points)
  • Three points for selecting the correct teams to make the finals (max 6 points)
  • Three points for selecting the correct Stanley Cup Winner (max 3 points)

Winner will receive a non-tradable, 91st overall draft pick in next year's draft.

@Master Mind will keep a tally of everyone's posts, so please tag him if you would like to participate!

STANDINGS:

Atlantic: NJ NYI NYR PHI PIT

NorthEast: BOS BUF MTL OTT TOR

SouthEast: ATL CAR FLA TBL WSH

Central: CHI CBJ DET NSH STL

NorthWest: CGY COL EDM MIN VAN

Pacific: ANA DAL LAK PHX SJS

Since it seems like we might need some tiebreakers on this...

Official Tie-Breakers:

  1.  Number of seeds correctly predicted for a team
    if still tied...
  2.  Lowest seed correctly predicted (since it's a lot harder to correctly guess lower seeds than high seed)

Hopefully that breaks up any ties we may have. Next season we'll likely add a couple more predictions for things that can be determined before the Awards (Art Ross winner, Rocket Richard winner) to try and create more disparity in the rankings!

A heads up to all GMs as well, players in Europe/College will only be signing in the NHL if they are NHL ready or close to that. This may allow players to develop more than they would in the AHL, and also give you a free scouting report that they can play in the NHL!

Congrats to Zach Boychuk, Frederik Sjostrom, Andreas Thuresson and Sergei Korostin for being 4 of the top 5 AHL scorers.

Rest of the organization should be ashamed for the season they showcased.

Till draft time,

Anal Premier: Av R

Yo. AHL. What iz it all about? Av R. What is that all about? Is it good or is it whack?

A random forest regression was applied to determine how important each variable is on a player's Av R.
Below are the results:

Variable: +/- Importance:  47%
Variable: SOG Importance:  8%
Variable: PI Importance:  6%
Variable: GP Importance:  5%
Variable: SB Importance:  5%
Variable: P Importance:  4%
Variable: HT Importance:  3%
Variable: GA Importance:  3%
Variable: TA Importance:  3%
Variable: G Importance:  2%
Variable: A Importance:  2%
Variable: PPp Importance: 2%
Variable: Sh Importance: 2%
Variable: FO Importance: 2%

We can see now and confirm that Av R is indeed a scam

Is EHM a scam?
Stay tuned next time for more.
