  1. I like this. Raty would have to be included. Get Raty and one of Romanov or Pulock for Miller and Rathbone. If the contracts need balancing out we’ll take Bailey and add Rathbone’s buddy McDunough(sp?). Something like that…
  2. This is the part of development I feel the Canucks seem to suck at. There are quite a few prospects over the past couple years that should be/have been given a couple games here and there to see what they can do, and if they float give them a bit of a longer look. Wolanin, Pederson, Lockwood, Brisebois…even Karlsson and Woo. Let them play, and if they seem to be able to hold their own, you can move higher paid players.
  3. I didn’t realize that the ring of honour was such an insult to a player! It may not be a number on the rafters, but it’s still an honour for a player. Suggesting that Luo should be RoH is not the insult some people think it seems to be. Lou had a great career, split between two teams. Achievements earned with both, and loved by both. The fact that he picked Florida over Vancouver for his career/life after playing shouldn’t be a slight on Vancouver, and RoH should be a slight on Lou.
  4. I think you need to have a sit down with Schenn and see what his desire is and what his next contract number looks like. To expect a first for Schenn May be crazy, but his value to the team going forward may be greater then the value of a second. He would be a great leader during a rebuild, if he’s willing to go through that. He already has his cups, he might just want to be home and play with the kids.
  5. I agree. Schenn already has his cup ring and seems like he’d be down to stick around even if we rebuild. It would be great to have that kind of leadership and stability on the back end. Him and Bear make a fine one-two on the right side for a rebuild.
  6. The way things are going, it’s possible Martin hits 20 wins and we still miss the playoffs. Doubt anyone saw THAT coming. Yeesh.
  7. It drives me nuts when people say this nonsense. As Benning and Co said repeatedly, as long as the Sedins were here we weren’t going to rebuild. They retired 2018, so our rebuild is only on year five. That was why Linden was let go/left. the problem is there SHOULD have been a rebuild prior to the Sedins leaving, and they could have been offered the option of staying to mentor the youngin’s or traded to a contender. But the narrative that we’ve been in a rebuild for a decade is completely false.
  8. I have to say both of these two we’re probably our best d pair 2 games ago.
  9. 20 wins? I’d say he should be aiming for 20 games. I doubt he goes undefeated…
  10. I’m one of them. I still think long term trading Miller would have been better, but I’m fully aware he left atleast one mil on the table, probably more, and a last year that would have been painful off the end of the contract. It’s a contract I can be more then happy with. Bo will command 6-6.5 a year is my guess. I could see a 5 year, 32ish mil contract.
  11. I’d love that, but I think the more likely answer is that they move Pearson which would be easier to do, and Dick plays left side and Joshua plays right side.
  12. Agreed. While it’s obvious we’re better with him then without, I don’t think the difference would be as big as some make it out to be. For example Miller is not the difference between making or missing the playoffs. Much rather keep Bo.
  13. While I would agree about the defence, it’s what we have at the moment. Again, ideally we move Miller and Rathbone for a bonifide RHD to move OEL back to the left.
  14. Kuzmenko - Miller - Boeser Garland - Petterson - Podkolzin Mikheyev - Horvat - Hoglander Pearson - Lazar - Joshua Dickinson Hughes - OEL Dermott - Myers Rathbone - Schenn Burroughs Demko Martin Ideally move Miller and Rathbone/Hoglander for a Solid RD and a prospect/pick, and move OEL back to left side, and bring in Rodrigues for 3C. If it was Hogz moved, Pearson moves up to play with Mik and Horvat and Dicky slots in on Lazard left. if it was Rathbone then we’re all set.
  15. Most people know that Kadri’s contract will be an anchor by the end of it. Just like Millers would.
  16. I’m not speculating what was offered. I’m just suggesting that we as fans need to temper our expectations on any return we may get in a trade, not expect to hose whoever we’re trading with and walk away with elite dman + elite prospect + 1st + 2nd etc. Even a 1 for 1 trade would benefit us if we moved Miller (position of strength) for a RHD (position of weakness) and we’d still more then likely make the playoffs and be set for years to come.
  17. Miller for Necas and Morrow is a win even without the picks. Trying to squeeze every last drop out of another team is why Miller hasn’t been moved yet. had we asked for Schneider and Chytil/Kakko without the picks, Miller would have likely been moved last trade deadline and we would be set.
  18. Hot take maybe, but I say we have the forward depth, especially with the add of the two Russians, to make the playoffs even without Miller in our line up. Between Miller likely having a bit of a regression to the mean (last year was likely a career year), and the boost a Miller trade would make to a d that was already 6th in the league at even strength once Bruce took over, means that even if we swapped out Miller 1 for 1 with a higher end dman (Schneider, Dobson, or the like) or a lesser swap of a Center and a dman (grans and valardi, Lunqvist and chytil, etc) would be a net improvement to our team.
  19. Not sure if you’re agreeing with me or arguing with me, but I think we’re saying the same thing. Moving Woo to forward for a few games is no reason to write him off as a prospect.
  20. So you want to go into next season with a left side D of Hughes, Dermott, and Rathbone? That’s……bold.
