    Flashes of greatness supported by good linemates that don't completely mask the fact that his decision making is sometimes completely awful. Very rarely does JV make a good play that he can finish on his own which stands out when you have guys like JT Miller who are constantly doing little things to drive offense. If JV played most games like he did last night, he would be amazing. It's a shame he shows up like that once or twice a month. I wish he would show up more.

    Despite growing up on the border that separated Flames fans and Oilers fans, I never cared for Albertan hockey as my father was and remains a big Habs fan. With no built in loyalty at home, I remember falling in love with Markus Naslund and the WCE and from then I never looked back. This was long before I knew that I would live in the city itself for at least a decade and counting.

    The good news is that I am no longer working two different positions at the same time. The bad news is that I finished this situation just in time for it to be Christmas. Merry Christmas, my dudes. (What is free time?)

    I am not dead. California was great. Currently moving between my old position and my new one (which involves working day shifts during the week and then graveyards on the weekends) I'm also moving Saturday and am sick as a dog. I'm not going anywhere but I may be distant until the middle of December. Luckily this is all very good for me in the long term.

    Just a heads up that GM Winter Soldier is boarding a plane to sunny California tomorrow and will not be available until next week. Urgent roster matters will still be handled as they arise.

    100%, that decision will be rightfully criticized in Houston. No way. Pitcher is the most important position in sport. Cole's had a historic run and has every right to be confident about his performance. You can certainly question how long his arm will hold up over the length of a contract but he is gonna get paid and deservedly so.

    Return to sit in the pressbox? People vastly overestimate how much of a dynamo Tram is. The question of bringing him back is a valid one, especially as Edler and Tanev begin to age out, but there's no way he displaces anyone at all right now.

    For a guy who has slotted onto the top pairing with Edler and been effective in all situations I've been thrilled. The points will come when he's a second unit power play guy and possesses a strong breakout ability.

      aren't there 2 reasons to consider trading marky?

      he is an ufa after this season and remains unsigned

      so if his ask is not doable he needs to be traded this season

       

      even if he is resigned, the nucks have to deal with the upcoming expansion draft

      they must expose a goalie

      either marky or demko

      who they would then lose for no return

      if they both are as good as it appears they are

      that might be silly

      as the team could likely get a decent return in a trade

      and simply expose another lesser goalie in expansion

      forcing seattle to take a different position player off our roster

       

      so i think goalie movement discussion

      has some value

      the issue is when is the best time?

       

      tdl for marky is he is not resigned by then ?

      or let him walk ?
