I thought it came from the ancient Aztec game where they hit a ball with sticks into a hoop while wearing battle armour and simultaneously tried to kill the other team without getting killed themselves.
Winners got trophies and hot broads, losers were ridiculed by the local media before being sacrificed.

Wouldn't it be wild if Canada turns out to be a Men's Hockey underdog but still wins gold? I watched a report about how they aren't even putting the players names on the backs of jerseys being sold to the public. "That makes sense", I though, followed up by "there's some motivation [as if any extra would be needed] for the team to play well".

@Green Building not expecting to much ,but that would be great, thinkin back to the 72 series' nobody knew or expected just how good the Russians were , so that old saying 'in true Canadian style' they dug deep and pulled it out. possible , probable hmmm. we'll see just how far that maple leaf and Canadian pride takes this version .

He definitely had a knack for playing devil's advocate.
In hockey discussions he would contradict himself from topic to topic, depending on the narritive, again, to play devil's advocate.
But in off topic forums - the dude never waffled from his hard right, pro-corporate, anti-environment stance.
I did enjoy pencil head's contributions in hockey talk. And yes, pretty sure he's back as Burnt Gravy

@Fantomex Man, I also said that I was Well-Hung(Welsh Hungarian), on that ancestry thread. All in good fun..but sometimes the 'truth' must be extended! :^)

@Ghostsof1915, @chon derry will have to put in a hearth of some sort to comply with regs.
Pretty sure it's a 18" radius of hearth, stone or tile (concrete in basements) from the face / door of the stove / fireplace for wood burning, I'd assume the same for pellets...?
I'm running into issues with my chimney and had a few companies by to lay out options for a woodstove insert, they all involve making the hearth bigger to meet code. My house is 97 yrs old so.... yeah

so back in 06 boston trades samsonov to Edmonton for 2 players and 2 round draft pick which turned out to be none other than milan lucic theoretically he could of been an oiler all along.

and the canucks trade some unkown person to Boston and he becomes Cam Nelly
That wasn't the only problem with the trade (not let dealing that future HHOFer was nothing...)
The OTHER part of the deal was the 1st round pick who turned out to be Glen Wesley. A guy who retired from the NHL almost TWENTY YEARS/1000+ NHL games AFTER Pederson last suited up as a Canuck.

Spoke to the big guy up above. (No reply) b.c. central interior can have some of the seemingly endless stream of heavy rain clouds from here in exchange for some sun!

@canucklax I had PRK and it was pretty painful. The eye drops for pain do a decent job. They also give you T3's but they're actually useless for eye pain from laser surgery as there isn't blood flow to the eye nerves that get temporarily damaged by the laser. My doc said they give it to people just to dope them up to keep calm.
But its worth it if you don't want the small risk of flaps becoming detached. If you do a lot of sports they'll prob recommend PRK.
-
@canucklax sorry should have said painful after for a few days. During the procedure you don't feel a thing.
