yah I'm with coastal on this one.. What's MTL's motivation? I don't think a low level prospect gets it done.. Their prospect pool seems pretty decent & fairly balanced, but I'd suspect they'd want defense as a sweetener.. Maybe Brisebois makes it happen? Other than that, I think it's a great idea

I can see leaving ANA, LA & MIN off the list, but where's ARI? Hard to say how SJ, DAL, & WPG will do, but I think CGY & VGK are locks in the Pacific, NAS, STL & COL in the central.. At this point, I think ARI should be fighting with CHI, VAN and maybe even EDM (long shot), with one of them maybe bumping one of the 8 from this last season.. which I admit is pretty vague & non - committal, but my point is ARI should be in the poll..

Wilson is pretty awesome.. either he's got something cooking or he's satisfied with losing Braun, Donskoi, Nyquist & Little Joe.. and maybe big Joe.. I'm not familiar with their prospect pool, but I'm sure they'll be just fine.. unfortunately..

it seems like I'm the only one who thinks SJ will be weaker this year.. not that they'll be weaker than Van, but they lost a couple big pieces and their goaltending is SUS-PECT.. it's tough to imagine them not making the post season, but I think they're on the decline on the other hand, it's only July..

I don't necessarily agree with a couple of your picks, but this is exactly the problem.. in some other thread, I mentioned that if we don't take Pacific 3rd, we could easily miss the show. LA, ANA, & MIN should all be awful. and prolly CHI.. who knows with Edmonton.. but Arizona could be challenging as well as the Nucks.. so who drops out? I'd guess Nashville & Winnipeg come down a bit, Dallas & Colorado jump up a bit, Vegas & Calgary basically stay the same.. San Jose is a bit of a question mark to me.. as is St Louis.. there's usually a pretty good hangover for teams winning the cup. They could fall so far behind by Christmas that there's no way they could ev - oh, hold on.. nevermind..

Naturally the playoff teams aren't necessarily the top 16 in the league, we're only concerned with the West. If we fall into the wildcard race, I think we will be in trouble the central will be strong.. I'd assume the top 3 in some order are Dallas, St Louis, and Colorado, with Nashville, Winnipeg and maybe Chicago fighting for WC 1 & 2.. Minny should be awful.. Vegas and Calgary should be 1 & 2 in the Pacific.. LA & Anaheim should be terrible.. that leaves SJ, ARI, VAN & long shot EDM fighting for that 3rd spot. Assuming EDM is out of the race, are we going to beat out SJ & ARI for the 3rd? who knows, but if we don't, are we really going to beat out 3 of SJ/ARI, CHI, WIN & NAS for a wild card spot? I think it's a crap shoot, but sadly no..

Buffalo may experience some buyer's remorse on Mr Skinner before camp even starts..

after reading all your posts, I think I see what you're getting at - its the media.. again, you may be right.. is it a knee jerk reaction by the media, just looking for likes? after spending so much time slagging on the team, this is the positive that can get more followers? that might be the narrow view, but it might be true. I do my best to stay away from social media, so I really shouldn't comment further

strangely, Panarin was still speaking thru an interpreter after signing with NYR.. maybe it's only a big deal for some players

they might have better luck with those careers at this point.
