  1. just in: FC arsenal is adding forward Moussa Diaby from the German team Bayer Leverkusen. They got a phenomenal forward in Diaby who is lightning fast and can also score. The reported base transfer fee is 55M and is likely to increase with bonuses that need to be paid in the future.
  2. stupid thing that Aquillini allowed a desperate GM to make a desperate move like this. At the same time it was hopefully an eye opener for Aquilini who has always been eager to rush things and take any shortcut available to make the playoffs. This trade was the coffin nail for Aquillini's approach to rush things to improve the team. Every fxcking successful business man knows that you have to be patient to succeed in the end. The owner is the biggest problem this franchise has. There's only one solution: SELL THE TEAM.
  3. game in the Czech Extraliga is all about speed and skill. Have watched one regular season game in Prague noticed that there are barely hits. They play the game with significantly less physicality than in a regular season NHL game.
  4. the czech hockey fans operating the twitter account Andy&Rono knew that Kase is likely done in the NHL in February 2023. Good decision to return home to Czechia because the game in the Czech Extraliga is much less physical than in the NHL.
  5. It's obvious to me that the GM wanted to sell the Type R to you. With that in mind you had all the leverage to get what you wanted - an reasonable value for your old car and the new Type R. I would have asked them how much the repair is. Once they told you the repair cost you then could have subtracted the cost from the offered $23,000 - $24,000 to arrive at the value for your old car. from my perspective calling the old car a risk is possibly related to the major accident and the possible negative effects of the accident on the car's condition. Best thing you can do is to stay away from that dealer. He's only interested in maximising his own money. A good dealer would have found a solution that works for both parties. I guess this is not the only honda dealer in greater Vancouver area.
  6. It's pretty simple: It requires a ton of patience to get out of the basement if you stick to the strategy "build through the draft". Don't be surprised to see Buffalo + Ottawa + Detroit in the playoffs next season. All teams have added enough talent and rounded out there roster with veteran players. In the East it's obvious that teams like Pittsburgh & Washington are on a downward trajectory whereas teams like Buffalo, Detroit and Ottawa are on the upward trajectory. Buffalo and Detroit are in the process of building contenders for many years to come. I agree with the user @nergish that watching a Buffalo game is more entertaining than watching a Canucks game. Buffalo have speed & skill upfront and defensive prowess on the backend. Buffalo is a surefire playoff team for next season.
  7. when you look at the prospect Benson from a pure skill level and the advanced stats you can make the case that he's a better prospect than Smith who was drafted 4 OA by San Jose. As mentioned several times it doesn't matter what prospect you are in the draft years. When you evaluate a prospect it becomes a projection. The key question what type of player Benson will become on the big stage 3 or 4 years from now. There are valid reason why 12 NHL teams didn't take Benson but opted to go with other prospects like Dvorsky, Danielson, Willander and so on. Benson is a high risk & high reward prospect. Buffalo is the right fit because they have a stacked prospect pool and have already lots of young players on their NHL roster. They can afford if Benson doesn't pan out. Canucks clearly can't afford to not hit on their 11 OA after all these picks that were traded away. I still remain skeptical on Benson.
  8. The following two quotes from Doerrie demonstrate that she has excellent hockey expertise. She hit the nail on the head. She's right on the money with her takes. “Either way you slice it, Steve Yzerman and Joe Sakic are playing 5-D chess, and Jim Benning is gluing macaroni pieces to construction paper,” Doerrie said. Back in November she also said “Scotty Bowman couldn’t coach that blue line,” in reference to the Canucks defence outside of Quinn Hughes. I fully get that such a smart and intelligent person isn't a fit with this canucks front office. She deserve way better than being in this organization.
  9. Rachel Doerrie is smarter than any of the people working in the Canucks front office. When you talk about red flags at the beginning i agree with you. She wasn't a cultural fit for the Canucks because of her outstanding hockey expertise and her intelligence. I don'T know why we discuss this here. There is nothing wrong with her comments on the S&P Podcast about the Myer's bonus. She said Canucks have an option to pay the bonus earlier than september. This statement is 100% correct, Canucks have chosen not to pay the bonus earlier despite the option to pay it later. So what?
  10. I It's going to be quite the challenge for Jake to outscore Darren because - Darren plays on the top line with more skilled linemates than Jake. Jake most likely is going to play on the second or third line with less skilled linemates - Darren will play his third season in Germany's top league whereas Jake has yet to arrive in the league - Darren plays on the better team than Jake - Darren had 44 points in 52 Games in the regular season / and put 11 points in 14 playoff games The odds clearly favor Darren when it comes to the production. Jake needs to have a hell of season to outscore Darren.
  11. What have Leon Draisaitl, Moritz Seider and Tim Stützle in common? Right, all of them went through the best development program in Europe. The Adler Mannheim have the best development program in Europe. Every time a german prospect is draft eligible and is part of this outstanding development program NHL GM's should immediately be on high alert. Paul Mayer, LHD is currently part of this development program and there is a good chance that he will be another great prospect that's coming out of Germany, joining the ones of Draisaitl, Seider and Stützle.
  12. The Bremerhaven Penguins have already decided to bring Jake back for the next season. This is a small market in Germany's top league the DEL. The GM still is convinced that Jake can become a star in the league mainly because of his skating and his powerful and accurate shot.
  13. need only a replacement for Myers if Canucks are still in the hunt for a playoff spot at the trade deadline. I highly doubt that they are still in the mix for a playoff berth at the trade-deadline. In this case it doesn't really matter if there is an adequate replacement on the right side. Just give Jett Woo or another ýoung defensive prospect some minutes in order to boost their development. It's not about the playoffs-. It's about the picking in the top 10. Still too many holes in this team: - lack of speed - lack of toughness - lack of leadership - lack of a winning culture. - lack of identity. Can't fix all these fundamental flaws within a season with this front-office.
  14. so what's the new metric for wealth and success? Is the the number and the type of cars those people own or is it the number and the type of real estate those people call their own?
  15. another terrible canadian market where things are getting completely out of control.
  16. Alphonso Davies on the move to another top team in Europe, supposedly Real Madrid?
  17. willander will NEVER play on a PP, whereas Reinbacher will piut up 40-50 points a season in his prime over many seasons. Why do I even waste my time to reply to your posts?
  18. sabres are very serious considering trading up.
