    Need more than Horvat and Demko if we are going to win more than lose. Funny, those two are not influenced much by Green, unlike the rest.

    The only defensive weakness Dickenson has is his faceoff ability in the defensive zone. I can see Horvat still taking a lot of these faceoffs. Nonetheless, Dickenson's other defensive abilities are off the charts. He is in the top 1% of all NHL defensive centers. So - a great signing, in my opinion.

    Our center depth is more than decent. Miller/Petey Horvat Dickenson Sutter Thats not too shabby at all.

    One good thing I've been noticing lately is even when behind, the canucks have still played a structured game and haven't started losing their minds and running around cluelessly. Demko would have been nice to see in net, but he can't play every game.

    Anybody else notice that Virtanen always hit people like a train until early in his career with the canucks? I remember Virtanen completely running over McDavid a few years ago when they were both early in their respective NHL careers and then the very next game he was very timid and seemed to have lost his way. And he has been that way ever since. If he goes to a team like Boston, everyone could see a very different player.

    The canucks have 3 calder finalists in the last 3 years, including Boeser. And chances are the hog will make it 4 straight years with a finalist.

    Benning let too many players walk at free agency. He should have traded Virtanen and Stecher at the draft for a early second rounder or late first rounder and resigned Toffoli. We probably wouldn't have been able to trade for Schmidt, but then we would have about 4 million to sign a FA defenceman and we would have kept our 3rd round pick. Now, we need a player back for Virtanen, and that is going to be tough to do.
