  1. Yah, what happened to him being on the road trip anyway?
  2. Meh, it's been done before. Now if once, just once, they would bring back the Flying V, that is something I would really like to see!
  3. I think Bailey has a realistic chance of Green putting him on the big team's roster one day mainly because of his combination of size and speed. It's in the speed part that he's got something that neither MacEwen or Gadjovich had, and that will hopefully endear him more to Green. I can't hide the fact that I'm really pulling for a big, fast guy like him to make our bottom 6, and give Lil' Softie (aka Dowling) his spot in Abbotsford.
  4. Bailey and Bowey impressed me the most. Hopefully trending toward being our next call-ups, if and when we can fit them in.
  5. Maybe they know something we don't know.........
  6. One question: If Tomlinson is just starting now, who was their colour commentator up to this point? Did the play-by-play guy do it all, or did they fire someone else already?
  7. I really miss Tomlinson. He and Ferraro were the last two knowledgeable/credible hockey people on Vancouver sports radio. Everyone remaining now seem to be just a bunch of blathering newbies, who have no actual inside knowledge or credibility, and give me absolutely no reason to listen to their opinions or 'insights'!
  8. Silovs looking every bit as good as Dipietro so far. Hope he keeps it up!
  9. But seriously....he got demoted to Abbotsford on the last or second last round of cuts. I would have kept him up over Dowling any day!
  10. Yes! And with lots of girth too!
  11. Oh no! Didn't you hear? When no one could get in contact with you, he went looking for you, and no one has heard from him since! We thought for sure he was with you!
  12. They now have 8 Dmen on the roster -- same as the big team. But before these signings, they were actually in the unheard of position of having more RHD than LHD (i.e., 4-2)!! They're now back on equal footing, having 4 RHD and 4 LHD.
  13. Bubble Myers was back tonight! If he can keep playing with this type of aggression, he's going to turn a lot more haters into fans. Would still prefer to see him on the 3rd pairing if/when Hamonic gets back, but will definitely want to see him stay in the line up if he keeps playing with this intensity.
  14. CANUCKS INK SCHILLING AND BRUBACHER TO AHL DEALS Oct 13th 2021 By Abbotsford Canucks Abbotsford, B.C. – Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today that the club has signed defencemen Cameron Schilling and Adam Brubacher, both to one-year AHL contracts. Schilling, 33, played in his 10th AHL season in 2020-21 with the Hershey Bears, leading team defencemen in scoring with 19 points (four goals, 15 assists). He also collected his 200th career AHL point (an assist) on May 2 vs Lehigh Valley, and was named to the 2020-21 AHL North Division All-Star Team. The 6’3, 190-pound defencemen ranks 65th among AHL defencemen in all-time games played (575), and has skated in 10 career NHL games between the Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets. A native of Carmel, Indiana, Schilling has posted 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) over 36 career AHL Calder Cup Playoff games. Brubacher, 25, participated in his first professional season in 2020-21, skating in seven AHL games with the Manitoba Moose, recording two goals. The 6’4, 205-pound defender served as captain during his senior year at Rochester Institute of Technology (AHA), ranking second on the team in points (24) while leading Tigers’ defencemen in goals (four) and assists (24). A native of Elmira, Ontario, Brubacher spent the 2015-16 season in the BCHL, splitting games between the Prince George Spruce Kings (41) and Powell River Kings (17), while leading league defencemen in goals (18). ABBOTSFORD CANUCKS | Interesting to note that capfriendly.com had Schilling listed as the 4th highest-rated UFA defenceman still unsigned to this point (behind Demers, Coburn & Prosser) -- and it was our farm team that signed him!. Now that's depth!!
  15. Our only real hope for reacquiring him then would be if the Sharks did put him on waivers and none of the other teams who put in a claim on him before wanted to drop a player from their 23-man rosters in order to take him, since they couldn't just assign him to the minors the way we could.
  16. Not sure what the Sharks are up to, but they have only declared a 22-man roster and Gadjovich isn't on it (while Jonathan Dahlen is). According to capfriendly.com Gadjovich is listed as a Nonroster Player. If they put him back on waivers, does he then go to the next lowest ranked team who put in a claim on him, or back to us?
  17. Yes, that's why he's starting on the 4th line
  18. I would agree with you on all your combos, but I think Petan starting on the third line has a lot more to do with what Green has had to say about him than anything Miller's said. I also think that Lammikko will be relieving BigMac of his position on the 4th line.
  19. Have to say that at least that first sentence made it sound like your were writing about Juolevi. The only real difference between them might be that one's LHD and the other's RHD (and a BC boy).
  20. I base the "poor" description on the fact that Petterson has usually been considered to at least be 'weak' on faceoffs and his yearly percentages have fallen with the 41%-45% range, similar to Gaudette, who was also never considered strong on faceoffs here. Last year, between Horvat, Miller, Sutter & Beagle, none ended up lower than 53%. Lammikko falls within the same range as Petterson and Gaudette, which at least on this team, makes him seem weak on faceoffs and liable to either be put on the wing or to have someone else step in and take faceoffs for him.
