  1. Wright probably is a safer bet. Slafkovsky is swinging for the fence with hopes that his 7 goals in the olympic in 7 games was a sign of things to come.. like seriously aside from his size.. i dunno what is there to like about his stats.. 10 points in 30+ games in finnish league against man is um impressive? drafting powerforwards in the top 10 rarely works out.
  2. meh i honestly think this guy will bust... i mean bust as a #1 overall.. he'll prolly be fine as an nhler 10 points in finnish league.. and 7 goals in olympic all of a sudden he's a #1 overall pick.. way too small sample size.. doubt even if he's in the nhl he'll take montreal out of last place lol.. coz i don't see him touching 30-35 points
  3. not even sure how you managed to come up with this lob sided offer.. Arizona would laugh at the offer.. all the 1st rounders are going to be in the mid/late teens + 2 cap dump and hoglander?? so essentially mid/late 1st rounder (assuming you get chychrun theyll probably for sure finish in the 1op 10ish) and hoglander for chychrun? and a 1st for 2 cap dump.. i'm sure any other teams can come up with a better package than a 1st mid/late + hoglander... that's even worse than any the worse than any of the worst rumored offered tossed around all summer for miller.
  4. they dont need to shed any salary right now to fit patches when he's back if they keep the roster as is. gardiner might end up on LTIR forever
  5. again being rich have nothing to do with whether or not the 48k spending on a computer is justified. they claim it as educational expense if it's legit justified yes pay up.. just because you are rich doesnt automatically mean buying a 48k computer automatically be justified and claim as educational expense. you need to have reasons to make reimburstment claim.. i buy a 48k computer that is overkill for what i need because you are rich is not a reason. so example if the kid say wants to live with mom and goes to school that's a couple of hr drive. should he buy a private helicopter to fly him to and from and FA should pay for it since he's a billionaire and claim it as travel expense related to education? how they spend money have absolutely nothing to do with whether the reimburstment is justified.
  6. good dad wants the best for them but at the same time they probably want them to spend responsibly not taking unknown breaks from class buying things that are unnescessary ie a $48k computer and taking random flights in first class just cause daddy is paying for it. just because you have money doesn't mean you just burn thru them on unnecessary things. you want your kids to spend more than what they can eventually earn. i don't care what faculty they are in.. there's no justification for a 48k computer for a kid in university.. sure specialty software can cost a lot of money.. but those are type of things companies pays or individual professionals that requires it for work buys.. since their wage would eventually cover it.. not a student.. how many university students do you know bought a 48k computer because their education requires it?? probably 0? if this isn't about money why are they arguing the kids should be entitled to their 12.5k a month child care on top of educational and other expense? educational expense i have no issue with for them to get it.. child care when they are 20+ each with over 1million dollar worth of child care collected since i have issues with.. and hidden redacted expense without justification or explaination just to hide your wherabouts? if he really wants to find out he can easily hire ppl to find out... if they decides to buy a 200k car for travelling to and from school.. should he pay it? if they are renting the most ridiculous expensive apartment next to the school as educational expense should he be paying that too no questions asked since he can afford it?
  7. i'm not blaming it for any of the goal, it's just a general observation. hughes likes to drift to the left regardless of what side he plays. whoever partners with him needs to be aware and cover when he does drift. it's not ideal to have 2 defenseman on 1 side of the ice. and really this Quinn hughes to the right is not really working.. it's not that Quinn hughes can't play the right side.. it's it exposes every single other pairing.. 1 really good pairing.. and 2 below average pairing.. i haven't seen a pairing in the limited 3 pre season game outside of OEL Hughes that i can say we'll be fine on the 2nd pairing.. instead of having 2 capable pairing.. we have 1 really good pairing and 2 bottom 6 pairing.
  8. i watched some highlights.. it seems hughes drifts back to the left side quite a few times in the offensive zone and it was especially noticeable on the 1st goal that he setup. we have both OEL and Hughes on the left side of the ice with no defenseman on the right. i think that's going to be an issue in the long run that'll get exposed.. you can't blame hughes it's his natural instinct to play and drift over to the left.
  9. so is this what life without horvat looks like? can't defend a 2 goal lead against an ahl team with half our regulars? :D i noticed EP drew 3 penalties tonight.. cross check high sticking and a tripping.. wonder if they were targetting him. didn't see how hard those penalties were but we need to protect our star players even in a preseason game.
  10. Actually I’m curious if say in a divorce you have to pay child support and education expense.. so if say a child pick the most ridiculous expensive course and have astronomical education expense associated with it.. you have to pay it no questions asked?? Which seems to be the case here
  11. since Brandon sutter can't get over covid.. can we just hire him as a penalty kill consultant for the time being.
  12. ya but child support past the age is 19 is only if it's deemed necessary and if the "kids" are dependant on their parents no? when each of the kids are sitting on million + in child support i don't think necessary nor the kids are dependant on their parents support to survive. i honestly don't see an issue with FA paying tuition for post secondary.. i think the issue is more like he has to pay tuition on top of child support for eternity if the kid decides to stay in school forever to get a master phd whatever + a bunch of expense that are unexplained.
  13. i doubt anyone will pick any of them up.. they have to basically keep him on the roster if they take him as they would have to send him through waivers to send him down.
  14. they are 7th dmen plenty of team will be sending down 7th dmen of similar caliber. can easily pick one up as a fill in if we lose one.
  15. lol we have d-men other nhl team wants that requires waiver?? burrough? poolman?? i'd be happy if someone takes poolman for free
  16. is this the fewest preseason games the canucks have ever played? a week off after 1 game and just 7 overall
  17. who cares what the guy is worth? he refuse to pay his children's education because they refuse to show him proof or progress at what they are doing. if i go to work and submit my receipt with everything blanked out other than the total amount i'm sure my reimburstment would be declined too... and let's not pretend they ain't paid half a million dollar in child support a year for 7-8 years now.. 3-4mil worth of child support + whatever divorce settlement you can't afford to pay any of your own education? a lot of students have to pay for their own education thru student loan part time job etc.. just coz your parents are divorced you get special status? i've also known rich family that ain't divorced and make their kid earn their own education.. so do those kid take their parents to court for not paying for their education? so if their kids decides to study forever into their mid 30s are they still considered "children of the marriage" as long as they decide to stay in school? legally by law you are only required to provide child support to a minor till they are 19. circumstances changes all the time sure. but i doubt those "kids" once they reached 19 sitting on million dollar worth of child supports are considered dependant on their parents or they will starve. the abuse allegation is a whole different story we'll just let it play itself out.. it's literally their word vs his words.. i doubt there's any actual evidence on either side.. although if i'm FA i would just pay whatever the hell they want for their expense and then completely remove them from his will and give all the money back to the aquilini family or his new family if he have one lol i wouldn't leave a single penny for the wives or the kids :D it's also kinda weird they didn't make those accusation the first time fighting for child support back in 2019 and only decides to make them now. whatever if he did it peace out. if he didn't.. then whatever.. or out of spite go after them for defamation.
  18. no idea cbc states they paid up til august 2022 minus the extra expense of 140k Both parties agree that Francesco Aquilini has paid his obligated support up until August 2022. However, Hunter said the intervention of the court has been required a number of times over the years for those payments to be made, and Francesco Aquilini now owes $140,000 in additional university expenses.
  19. i would refuse payment for additional expense too if i'm not given information regarding it. as for child support both side agreed aquilini have paid his child support up until august 2022.. they are arguing over $140k of additional expense and whether he has to continue paying them because all the information is hidden. i dunno the context of taking extended breaks from class.. i'm guessing skipping semester and so on.. so does that mean he have to continue paying them each month if they decides to skip semester drag things out and continue collecting 12.5k while on vacation? if that's the case i'm going to stay in school forever.. where else are you going to make 12.5k a month literally just for staying in school? yes he's been fighting some payments over time but let's not go and pretend he hasn't paid his child support for years.. he's literally up to date minus the "extra" expense that haven't been explained to him yet
  20. i dunno i read they agreed to only pay until they are 19.. half a million a year is enough to put any kid thru university master doctor phd.. i'm sure he paid the child support part.. it's the extra expense that he's unwilling to pay because they are unexplained and "hidden" from him to hide the kids from him? this was from 2019 Tali’ah’s lawyer argues she maintains her home for the children even during the school year when they are away, and Francesco should be paying the previously agreed upon $12,500 per month for each child who lives with her, year-round, until they turn 19. After that, Francesco would only be obligated to pay the amount when the children are home from school. she wants to be paid 37.5k a month to "maintain" the house even when there's no one there which was not the original agreement. on top of continue paying them till whenever they decide to finish school. if his kids are only taking 2 or 3 courses per semester and takes 7 years to finish something that takes a normal person 4 years to finish is he suppose to blindly pay the 12.5k per month per kid? i think he has the rights to see their progress and get explanation to the expense which i'm guessing have been refused.
  21. i dunno i read the original child support is only until 19 years of age when the child are at home while studying and they were arguing he shouldn't have to pay the full amount when they are not at home with her. i mean if the original agreement was only till 19 years of age.. technically his obligation are over but he continued to pay up until august 2022 may it be lesser amount or not. 15k per child per month till they are 19 is an insane amount of child support regardless if he's rich or not.. that's almost 3-4x more than what a normal adult make in a month.. chances are FA prolly dished out some physical discipline.. a lot of countries parent still discipline their kids and is considered normal.. but i doubt it was as extreme as his kids claimed.. comes into the room to beat you till you wake up?? throwing a 5 year old across the room?? those seems exaggerated.. if i throw a 5 year old across the room.. i'm sure there'd be either some broken bones or signs of abuse on your body that people would notice.. or even requires hospital. again it may or may not be true i rather reserve my judgement till the court makes a decision rather than give death sentence based on allegations..
  22. probably more like FA refuse to pay unexplained unreasonable expense.. i'm pretty sure child support only covers food shelter clothing basic necessities of child's life.. 48k computer flight tickets etc etc are not part of child support.. heck.. the computer alone probably is more than enough to pay for most of his univeristy tuition. it have nothing to do with being rich or not.. if you wanted nothing to do with me.. then why am i paying for your extra curricilar activity that's outside the scope of child support? i'm sure the ex wife gotten more than enough from the settlement back in 2013 to be set for life for herself and her kids.. she can't afford to pay any of the tuition and expense?
  23. i get you can accumulated that if you are a professional.. but they are not.. i dunno whether it's true or not but flights taking breaks from school all the expense seems excessive and go far and above child support.. oh well will let the court have it's opinion first
  24. oh then i guess it's no issue signing horvat to 7+mil lol
