Been missing all the hockey news of the past 2 days. Did hear on the radio that we're drafting "size" (6'4" D man, etc.). Feel so out of the loop.

I hope the Sedins join the management group one day and pawn off some of their secrets to the young bucks.

Looking for Canucks Fans from the 1970s/80s to help me with a few names as I am making a top 10 Canucks enforcers/fighters. The basic requirement would be they were Canucks for at least 100 games (Season+). Only problem is, I don't know any of the older tough guys (I do have Jack McIlhargy) but basing it just off of career PIMs isn't ideal, wanting names for big, mean, and nasty enforcers/fighters.

@NewbieCanuckFan How would you have described Tanti as a player, then? Was he one of those guys like Brendan Morrison who had his best career years because of the line he played on? Or was he still really good at doing things to create space, did he hit? fast? BTW, this thread has been awesome. We need a Canucks Nostalgia Fire Side chat thread, I am a nostalgia nerd and constantly come across players I have questions about. Just the other day I read a cool story about how Troy Gamble was supposed to be the guy and it came down to Kirk McLean wanting it more and earning the spot whereas Troy sort of fizzled out, but was a huge prospect.

@smithers joeWasn't Murzyn highly touted but he was a big slug when he came into the league and essentially became a fighting defensive d-man? Or am I way off? My earliest memories of the Canucks had him on the team and I remember thinking in the late 90's "Oh, wow..Murzyn is still playing?"

@mikkimYup! definitely remember Scott Walker in the 90s, I am going to do a small 5 player 'middleweight' category that I think will have guys like Walker, Rypien, Brad May++. I really want to try and get it right and watch a tonne of fight vids haha. I have Coxey, his 2 bouts with Probert are easily top 10 in any Canucks tilt list.
@lmm I have Dave Richter on my pre-research list (Based on PIMS in GP) Never heard of him, though. Also a guy named Darryl Stanley who i'm not familiar with.

@smithers joeHow was that series? Did it ever feel like the Canucks were 'in it'? or was the wind outta the sails in a hurry?

@smithers joeHow about Harold Snepsts? Was he 'feared' or considered a good fighter? Garth Butcher? My father-in-law (Who is a Leafs fan) said he was just an overweight slug by the time the Leafs got him (Last year of his career)

@NewbieCanuckFanLove it! I think once I do my research I will make a Canucks Enforcer/Fighter thread, I come across names every now and then that I don't recognize, i'll check their stats, see they played in the 70s 80s or even early 90s when I was too young to remember, then wonder what kind of player they were (Fan favourite? Steve Bernier no-show? Sergei Shirokov overhype?).

@NewbieCanuckFanI'm doing this research for a fun facebook group i'm in called 'Enforcer Appreciation.' I want to make a list and do actual research and base it on entertainment level, strength of opponents (based on their W/L and notable opponents they faced) can they play a regular shift? etc. I have been seeing Fraser's name in that group an awful lot, bit before my time ('85) so I am really looking forward to watching his tilts! (Height/weight not a huge factor, because obviously Rypien is making the list)

I got legitimately high for the first time last night and wowee that was a different experience. I think I overdid it just a little though.
