Very promising. Will be fun to follow and see how he develops this season. If he pans out his style of play would be a great addition to the Canucks. Does anyone know his contract status? Can he sign/come over at the end of the season?

Don’t think that extra 0.04 ppg with Lucic is worth an extra year of a bad contract. Just my two cents.

Miller is younger and a better player than Simmonds. I would have been all for picking Simmonds up a few years back, but not now.

That’s ok. He’s a 6th round pick that isn’t 1 or 2 years away anyway. Kid seems to have some potential. No need to rush. Let him develop a few years and see how far he has come. We’ve got a few mid-late round picks that have gone the college route and look promising.

I'm up for anything that will make our team better. Hoping with the cap not at the level most thought it would be that maybe it will lower the expected $ that free agents will get this summer. I'm ok with Myers, depending on the final numbers. Would kind of be a bit more interested in Gardiner. Could his injury this past season possibly limit his salary this summer? Maybe he'd have to settle for a bit less due to health concerns. Kind of think I'd maybe make a play for him if you can get him cheaper due to injury concerns. Higher ceiling guy, tho more risk than Myers. At the end of the day, this team needs to continue to show some improvement.

The more I read about this kid, the more excited I get. A 1st round talent, the knock on him is his size. It doesn't seem to hold him back in Sweden. It may factor into him being able to make an impact right away once he comes to NA, but by the sound of his drive and competitiveness, I'm not going to worry about that. I'm sure he'll find a way to make an impact in a couple years. Really like the home run swings the Canucks took.

Agreed. Was bit surprised to hear Smyl call Pod’s name, but was super excited. Didn’t think we’d actually select him. He’ll be well worth the wait.

I like Kaliyev and Brink with our 2nd, but if there's a good dman that JB likes with some high upside, I'll be happy. Keep swinging for the fences.

Guess it’s “possible”, but it’s also “possible” somebody else joins the Canucks in some capacity....anything is possible. It’s also possible Chia doesn’t join the Canucks and possible nobody joins the organization. It’s also possible that Andrew Walker is throwing crap at the wall, and it’s also possible he’s not. It could also be possible that the possibility of this annoys me. Ok, enough with this being a possible rant that I’m no longer sure where it’s going

I would hate to see Stech gone. Nobody can ever question his heart or his effort. Blue and green flow through his veins. There is no questioning that. One of my favourites.

Love JB, but how many forwards has he acquired on the open market with high-end skill/potential? Just want him to go for the home run with our 1st pick. If it's a miss, so be it. He's been able to find some other hidden gems after the 1st round. Just don't want a "safe pick" at 10.

I’ve seen him play 3x this year. Every time I’ve been more impressed. Have seen almost nothing of the other top guys, but I sure hope Bryan somehow lands in our lap.

Are there many draft eligible players this year that are thought to be NHL ready by the pro pundits? Not including Hughes or Kakko.

With Mazanec and Leighton both UFAs, does Mikey go to Utica or spend another year in junior next season? Curious what people think.

I was on the “Draft Tkachuk” bandwagon. MT has shown himself to be a star for years to come, but until we actually get to see OJ for a period of time, it is still too soon to say it was a “missed pick”. OJ has a lot of pressure, but if he turns out to be a very good defenseman as many still think he could be then it will be far from a “missed pick”. If he can recover and be ready for September without a setback, hopefully he continues to trend upward. I actually think Quinn going pro will take some of the spotlight away from OJ. Could be a good thing. A lot of “ifs”, but there’s still time. Many of us want all these good players, and want them all now. It doesn’t happen that way. It takes time, longer for some.

I’d be thrilled with him at 6. Would look like another steal in a few years.

Either way, I wouldn’t mind another Motte on the team
