I could use a little more reckless from 18. Keep it up but bring it on the ice please.

I want to at least see what Tram can offer on the NHL ice before I flip a quality young winger for a big man on D.

Poor Comets. They had a shot this year...

...not so sure about that, with a bit of an add you might be surprised at what they could get for Virt. Especially if his contract this summer is team friendly and attractive to other GM's.

I think Motte stays even with the addition of young talent. He is the exactly the type of depth player that championship teams need.

[PGT] Minnesota Wild at Vancouver Canucks | Feb. 19, 2020

Petey took a ton of abuse from Suter and Foligno. He got clipped by Dumba, cross checked in the face while driving the net, high sticked as well- all of which not called. He is likely banged up and frustrated. -
I like to see conspiracies in the Hockey world. It is clearly present in other major league sports and anyone who says otherwise can refer to 'deflate gate' or the recent debacle the Houston Astros are involved in or the NBA referee that was found to be influencing games. It stands to reason that other forms of "cheating' are present ad nauseum in the NHL.

ZM brings up the baseline for physical play all on his own. His game is well rounded and seems to able to play up and down the lineup. Bailey feels like a bit more of a project but with lots of potential and upside. I’m just not sure his game is sound enough for a bottom six role on a line that will have to spend time in their own zone defending during this key stretch of the season. But to your point, you never know until you try. -

Motte is the kind of deapth great teams win with. I can hear the other teams anouncers now, wondering after a tough 7 game series, “who is this Motte and where did he come from”? -

Vancouver must be at the top of many lists right now for UFA’s and players with trade protection.

I’m not sure the source, but JR was thrilled that the Canucks had no issues with his “non traditional “ route to pro hockey. I guess alot of teams were scared off by him playing highschool hockey but the Canucks stood by his decision and for that he feels very loyal.

Kassian kick Cernak in the Chest - Now with Poll
reyezone replied to VegasCanuck's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Whilst not being nearly as nasty and vicious as I expected from all the noise regarding this kick, it was incredibly stupid on Kassians part. How long are suspensions for being stupid again? -
There is the evidence of a very different release on his wrist shot from year 1 to present (just look at video). I hope that this drop off is injury related because it is BB’s greatest tool and what makes him arguably elite.

There is a cognitive dissonance between what is perceived to be honorable play by the players and fans and then there is the names that go down in the halls of glory who did whatever it took to win. Hockey's roots were a surrogate to war for our culture and it is something that the league seems reluctant to let go of. It comes down to players wanting to win at all costs vs wanting a safe work environment. Sidney Crosby slashing Mark Methot's finger tip off may be the best example for the type of violence that you are advocating for with regards to EP40. Additionally, Messier may have been one of the dirtiest players ever with his elbows. Criminal really. -

It looked all shoulder to me. EK had Motte's arm tangled up with a hold and went into the boards high and hard and the shoulder likely popped. Hopefully no surgery needed. -
I had no problem with the hits. In context, they were beauties! MT did a good job of avoiding head contact while bringing that old-school smack down we all love to see in hockey. If he Scott Steven'd his a$$ then I think we could all agree that this has no place in the modern game, but hard, aggressive and nasty play like this between two big boys who play a physical brand? I'd way rather see these kinds of hits than dropped gloves and face punching.
