    Really would appreciate mod approval being needed for threads being started by people with very low post counts, at least until school is back in session.

      Keeps the eastern trollers from fishing here too.  BC has a 200 mile limit, so how about something similar for us?  

      No fishing inside our waters!

      The two problems I could forsee are:

       

      1. Post count boosting -- we might just get posters throwing a ton of low-effort/low-content posts just to get to the thread minimum.

       

      2. Gatekeeping -- while a lot of threads from new posters aren't great, there are so really good threads I've seen from posters who are brand new to CDC and it would be sad to lose those.

       

      I'm not entirely against or in favour of the idea, but these are some of the arguments I've heard against it over the years.

      I'm pretty sure most of the people who create the good threads are the ones who will be patient enough to wait for the rubber stamp.
